They're about even. Though I like the stuff from the 00's a bit better.
The 90's seemed to fizzle out real badly at the end.

The 70's and 80's were pivotal times in music. Whereas in the 90's/2k, there wasn't much innovative brought to the table musically because most of the artist try to duplicate what has already been done in the previous decades.

Yup, when I saw Mariah Carey's "Glitter" about the only thing missing was the Lake Minetonka scene and Morris Day.

If you must have an answer then I would say 90's.
But nothing beats my 70's and 80's music.

Wrong Forum razz

90's but not by much. But at least we got Bjork, Beck, NIN. and Prince, Madge and many of our 80's icons were still doing interesting things not to mention some really great albums came out. Not to mention the birth of electronica.

I do think we are seeing the end of a really bad era in music. 95 - 05. I think a lot of really fantastic stuff has come out recently

If I absolutely had to choose?
90's
That's only because there was a lot of great shit that was out from the Roots, the Pharcyde, Tribe Called Quest, Common and D'angelo and Erykah Badu, DeLa Soul, WuTang, etc, in the 90's.... Freestyle Fellowship, and oh God. So many. 90s most definitely.
