What about a Be My Shadow contest? Whatever band you are promoting, the winner gets to travel either with the band for 5 shows or you'll fly the winner to five different cities for the five shows with backstage passes.

Another idea is Take Me Under Your Wing. If a band is being promoted the band takes the winner under their wing, showing them the ins and outs of the music biz, the winner gets to watch them practice as well as going to the show. They spend a week with their favorite band.

Another idea is Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous. The winner travels to LA and stays in a beach front house for a week or two. They have maids and butlers. They travel everywhere in a limosine. They get a shopping spree on Rodeo Drive. If doing this during times of the Emmy's or other awareds then the winner gets invited to a big star filled party. Etc.

Or do a year of weekend blasts. The winner gets to fly to a different city in the continental US for a weekend of fun once a month for a year.

These are just a few ideas that I have.

I want to win that one for the maid and butlers alone!

Hey now! Thanks for the responses, albeit most of these have been done over the past 20 years. Done Machu Pichu, Shopping in Tokyo, Vegas concert and $, SXSW, Glastonbury, QE11 (just doing the maiden voyage in 2004 now), MIG, Lamborghini (tried this but couldn't get the sponsor to front the $), Direct a Video (tried few years ago but bands wouldn't allow), Oscars (did that until the Academy prohibited consumers, especially after 9/11, now we just do private Oscar Parties). Did Swim with Dolphins, Whales, Polar Bears. Just did Golf in Antartica, eco trips, deep south, home reno (this is always a good one), movie screening party, Be a Band Roadie (although the bands really hate this one). Gravity Free Environment & Space Shuttle ($100K plus), Your own Star (did it). Lifestyles of the Rich & Famous (done many times, but as you can imagine, one of the top 10).

Love the 'Cuss Jar' 2the9's...hehe. Transplants, Botox and Cyrogenics - LOL...think the sponsors may have some legal issues with this one. Cold Water Diving in Canada (good one, but not sure it has much mass appeal); Travolta (would want mucho dollaro), Lord of the Rings (not bad, especially since the 2nd movie will surface), your own life-sized statue (interesting). Raspberry's 'Around the World in A Month' - have done versions of this, but what I like about your suggestion Raspberry is how you titled it - good one.
Also like the Elephant Reserve idea (love to do this one myself).

Aaron - Middle East. Suit up baby and don't 4get your BIG GUN; U would be in heaven over there with all those boys, wouldnchanow wink.

Keep going guys...this is good. Think outside the box.

Focus groups are awesome. You get a bunch of people to feel important because someone's asking their opinions and genuinely listening, and you let them do all your creative work for free! Whoohoo!

Well I thought about this one a long time.
Thanks for asking...BECAUSE
I just went into this beautiful fantasy...
won an amazing fantasy/prize
trip with back stage passes and everything.
My favorite entertainer invited me to ride to the
after/party in his limo...party was at his hotel.
He sang my favorite song to me personally...
Thanks again for asking...I had a wonderful time..love
and I did not even have to leave the PC.

(gotta get this powerful imagination worked on
before it gets me into trouble)

Er--that fantasy didn't include one controversial virtual sand dollar...did it?

lol Just joking SensualMelody... peace

Actually, I really like topics like these ... I can indulge my fantasies while feeling I'm contributing to something biggrin

But Red, girl ... you're a hard taskmaster! biggrin ... ok, here's my attempt at thinking "outside the box":

- Enough travel tickets for the rest of my life to visit every country on the planet
- To be in a computer game
- To launch a ship
- To be a Mardi Gras queen
- Car-lot supermarket grab
- F1 pit crew training
- To have someone like Richard Branson/Bill Gates/Alan Greenspan give me personal business advice
- A week on Necker Island
- To have 10,000 t-shirts made with my wording or pic of my choice, and given out free to the citizens of a town or city, just for the hell of it (it'd be cool to bump into someone wearing one)
- To design a dinner service, bed linen or something similar that is sold in a large department store
- To have a building, road or something similar named after a family member
- An observatory in my garden (with someone to show me how to use the telescope!)
- To demolish a building (I know this has been done, but I'd still like to press the button)
- To have 100 copies of a book published privately
- To be the first to do something, eg tightrope walk across the Thames, abseil from the London Eye etc.

My creative juices are no longer running biggrin ... I'll be back if I think of any more. Actually, I've been surprised how difficult it is to think of things that might not have been done before ... I have a feeling that each and every one of my suggestions had been tried, probably many times. Sorry Red - think I failed ya! biggrin

oh yes, I'd quite like speech therapy too, so that I can learn to talk with a different accent, or a distinctive one like Audrey Hepburn biggrin
