I think you're right. A woman's role is to support her husband's decisions! She is an equal but not the same. The husband is the leader, decision maker, and the one held accountable for failure. The wife is the supporter and nurturer. I think alot of divorce happens today first and foremost because people are religiously lost, and because men have become passifists and wimps and women have become power-hungery bitter man envying dominators. Families are poorly structured and roles are poorly placed. Sex and the City is the new framework, sadly, and everyones on the bandwagon. The most radical thing to be these days is a legitimate family. America's political system used to be about the "pursuit of happiness." I think it should be a partnership, but quite what responsibility which has and to what extent is up to those involved. Personally I think it's best for things to be fairly even so that responsibilities are shared and don't fall on one's shoulders too much, but really if both are happy it's up the people involved. I'll take the lead with some things where I think it's best, on the understanding that my wife is comfortable with it, and likewise she tends to take control of certain things and I'm glad for it. All in all, it's whatever works (as long as it really is working for both). | |
