THE GOOD DEED THREAD>>>>OR " TAKE THE MONEY AND RUN!!!!"

Oaky...Yesterday I was standing at an ATM with a friedn while this elderly lady with a walking stick infornt of us was taking a lifetime at the machine. Getting fed up with waiting I stepped foreward and asked her "Would u like some help?" I was being genuine and to be honest I wanted her to hurry the Hell up at the same time!!! She said it was okay, that we could go first, that the ppl be4 her had trouble, she had tried to get money out ,she would try again later.
As she turned away I stepped up to the machine and about $ 400 dollars popped out!!! I swung around and said " Excuse me, this is ures" She looked from my friend to me a bit confused and was saying was I sure it wasn't mine. I tucked the money in her hand and said " No sweetie its ures" Because it was, the machine was just a bit slow and I hadnt even touched the damn thing!! Nor did I have that much money in my account.
Now like my friend pointed out. I could quite easily have taken that money and the lady would never have noticed. Then my firend procceeded to say," But I know u wouldn't cause ure concince would kill u" DAMN STRAIGHT!!

So tell me about a GOOD DEED u have done!!!

That's really sweet! I have to think of a good one but I TRIED to do one last week.

I was at lunch with 2 co-workers at a small Mexican joint here in LA and as I waited to order a homeless woman (very drunk) came up to me and asked me to buy her a taco. I said no problem and asked if she wanted a combo plate (w/rice and beans cuz i'm sure her stomach needed it she was blitzed) she said 'yes'...then the owner of the place told me in Spanish that she's in here all the time and that he would feed her as soon as they made our food and that it was not necessary for me to buy her food. Cool. she walked away to talk to someone else, time passes...I'm eating with my 2 co-workers and she comes up to me and asks 'where's my taco place?' I told her that he was going to make a plate for her...she then started yelling at me and told me to shove my burrito up my ass!!! I tried to calm her down and the owner kicked her out of the restaurant. He apologized to me and said that she does this kind of thing all the time and that she is infamous for doing this at all the areas restaurants. I felt like crap...cuz if I had just gotten her what she asked for none of this would've happend...but she was one crazy bitch!

Ace

I pulled over to console a weeping girl who'd just attempted to commit suicide by running in front of a speeding car.

Yeah...I kind of laugh about it now...no one has ever told me to stick a burrito up my own ass. I cant eat one now without that repeating in my head. lol

Here in the Hollywood area there are tons of homeless people so as we go to eat lunch and stuff...whatever I have that's leftover and untouched...I'll bag it up and give it to someone on the street. I'm usually met with gratitude...so this was a first!

its too bad there's very little sincere reciprocation and/or appreciation...not that it's a requirement

Well, it would be nice, but u're right. It's not a requirement. However, a simple "thank you" goes a long way too

Well I dont necessarily keeps tabs either but it occurred to me that not many people these days seem to want to help or be willing to do the right thing ,even in the smallest way and the t\incident made me wonder just how many out there would have just taken the cash. I do believe that most people have a good side to them, no matter how they come across to others, and the gruffer people would probably be the ones more likely to help someone out. Besides, it's always intersting to see how people react to things in Forums biggrin
