I'm jealous as hell--I was in Santa Barbara in late April and am STILL having withdrawls. lol Fuck the Bay Area. I need me some SB.

Santa Barbara is beautiful! I am a native Santa Barbaran!

So am I, I think! tease Seriously, it's perfection. I got a tattoo @ Energy Tattoos on Parker Way, stayed in a hotel near the beach in an incredible neighborhood, got properly trashed on State Street (and broke my sandal dancing in a bar--the hot bartender fixed it with duct tape) had one of the best dinners of my life @ an Italian restaurant on State ("Trattorio?" it's on my bank statement but I'm too lazy to check). I've been down there thousands of times, but this time was different (once I ventured out of Isla Vista/Goleta, which has its own different beauty. wink

Santa Barbara's climate is perfect, its residents happy and healthy, and there are so many hidden treasures. I LOVE the lush mountains as its backdrop. It makes you feel like you're on a hidden island. Ugh. It hurts deeply. I WILL live there, even for a few months. I need to get it out of my system.

The beautiful Santa Ynez mountains on one side, and the ocean on the other, you can't beat that. State Street life is kinda crazy, but in a good way..the building I work in is on State Street, so I see all the fun just outside my window! Isla Vista, is a world on it's own indeed.....it's ayoung college kids dream, and a parents nightmare. Hope you make it this way again soon, maybe for "Fiesta" it is the first week of August.

lol Yeah, a few years ago DP was the PLACE to be for me and my UCSB friends, but I can't imagine anyone other than drunk kids having the same sentiment. wink

I'd love to come out for Fiesta. Alas, I have a LOT of other trips on my front burner. But I'll be back, dammit! fit

Me also! (Although mine is just Renee, without the accent aigu.) I love my middle name--when I was in junior high I hated my first name (Joni) and wanted to go by Renee. The problem was that when the teachers would say, "Renee" I would forget they were talking to me. I went back to Joni after about 2 days. lol.
