detox

i've been feeling like crap lately - smoking like a 2-dollar whore, drinking too much, and eating lots of vegan crap.

so i decided to quit smoking (starting tomorrow, of course... smoker ) and to combine it with a detox regimen. i bought this stuff at the health food store:

if it tastes the way it looks... ill

have any of you tried this? any other type of herbal detox?

What does it do?
I really like spicy food. I mostly put Jalapenos on a lot of my food.

So you believe this detox thing will actually help you quit smoking? It seems to me that you'd just be doubling an already big challenge.

I've tried a detox program before when I wasn't in the mood to do a water fast.

It seemed to make me feel better, but I was also exercising and sleeping earlier at night, which may have played more of a role. lol

well, i've tried a few times, and rather than focusing on the the physical benefits, i found myself turning into a total bitch, feeling somehow "deprived" nuts . so i'm trying to make this all about health to get me over the hump. i don't want to go the gum/patch route, so this is the closest thing to that. shrug

Dude, don't believe it.
There are alot of hidden charges.
I always have to tell 'em, at least 3 times, "I told you already! I don't need the friggin' rust-proofing!"

I can't remember the name. I talked to the lady at the health store and explained to her that I was really sluggish, etc.

She gave me something that came in a blue box. Had some pills, some liquid bottle thing, and some more pills, all arrange in seperate packages for AM, and PM.

I had to take it for 8 days. I find that water fasting is a bit more affective, though for 3 days you simply hate the world.

ALl of this requires a state of mind and optimism. Basically you have to get in the mindset that you are doing something to rid yourself of old and bad habbits. I mean, why feel deprived of something (smoking) that is killing you? It's nothing to charish. Start from that mindset no matter how cranky you are. (I kicked smoking 7 years ago. No interest to go back).

But one thing you can try is taking a 30 min to an hour brisk walk every evening. Walking increases the speed of your digestive track/process which alleviates constipation (most people are mildly constipated whether they know it or not), and can make you feel a hell of a lot better in a week. Brisk walking is an amazing mood enhancer. nod

i don't think i can handle a fast shake

you're right - the mindset is important. basically, this is designed to "anchor", if you will, a positive mindset. i already walk my dog every day, but i may extend the walks - you're right, it makes a lot of difference.

just so i don't piss off all of my clients and students, i also got some of this:

lol
