Who saw this episode of Super Sweet Sixteen?

I watched this episode with this girl Audrey and can not believe how unappreciative some kids are. She lost her shit because she wanted her car on her birthday and her mother gave it to her before. neutral

This chick was just turning 15 . . . neutral

Here's a clip of her temper tantrum
http://www.dailymotion.co...r-and-huma

She was lucky to even get that car. I didn't get a car until I turned 18 and it was a 15 year old Toyota neutral

The end.

Is it the show in which rich kids get really expensive stuff and parties for their birthdays from their family?
I really like spicy food. I mostly put Jalapenos on a lot of my food.

Yes . . . I watch it sometimes and these kids are annoying confused

I feel like I was raised so differently than these kids and I just thank my parents for that. I would be embarrassed if I was on tv acting like that.

Sometimes that show literally makes me sick. Those kids do not appreciate anything but they don't understand how much there parents are going out on a limb for them. Some of the shit these kids get costs more than my life! razz

I doubt I get a nice car for my 16.
and ill be happy no matter what.
these kids are spoiled.
but it's the parents fault. because if they didn't allow that behavior it wouldn't happen. its that simple

One of the episodes that I saw was of a hispanic teen who started to cry because her mom did not buy her the center pieces she wanted. The mom was trying to save money and thats why she chose the ones she did. Well this little girl goes crying to daddy that mom didnt get her what she wanted so dad tells her well mom saved so much money with these and this little brat tells her dad "well mom better give me all that money she saved" eek Oh man I wish I could have slapped her, little brat!

I laughed my ass off at the one where she is having hair and makeup done and is telling him he's rubbish and the guy walks out. Not only that he's friends with her stylist who doesn't take her outfit to change into at the party - loved it.

I also loved the skate board party one, the girl was a brat but I kind of loved her for it - her entrance as a doll in a box was sweet.

I need to get out more.... boxed

lol

I have to admit I watch sometimes, sort of like how you watch when you see a car wreck. But in all honesty something in me DESPISES this show. I think the false sense of entitlement these nouveau riche idiots parade around is vulger, boorish, and uncouth. And though I'm not a rich woman, trust me it's nothing to do with envy in the least: quiet as it's kept I spent my later teen years in boarding schools with reaaaal metaphorical blue bloods: the children of world reknown educators, artists, kids with Carnegie blood, sheiks daughters, oil barons' daughters, girls with freakin' SECURITY DETAIL...and you know what? Never in a million years would they behave the way you see these snot nosed new money brats do in the media and on dumb shows like Sweet Sixteen. That's because the wealthy, who are truly accustomed to their good fortune, understand the meaning and use of the words RESTRAINT, GENTILITY, an GRACE in action wink

If there is something that could make me go berserk and kill a bunch of little birds, it's this show (and the fact that it's on MTV). And every other show on MTV.

If I had even had a sweet fifteen/sixteen and tried to give my parents an attitude like that girl, I would have been slapped into next week. My parents would never allow me to act in such a way.

That's the problem with these brats - their soft-ass parents never gave them any discipline. They're the ones to blame.

So true! I don't think that the girl's mother even said anything to her about her behavior at that moment. I would be so afraid to act like that toward my parents. She was cursing and screaming. I am 22 years old and to this day, I have never cursed around my parents and I would not dare to curse at them. shake

I know, I once said the f word under my breath in the presence of my Mum. I never did it again lol

I think some parents feel that they are giving their kids what they never had but don't realise that they are killing them (personality/morality-wise) with kindness.

It's sad how these kids take all their luxuries for granted and expect everything just handed to them. I just celebrated my daughters 14th last month, we did one of those pizza parties at the bowling alley kinda things, and my daughter was beyond grateful. Fifteen kids eating pizza and bowling, was expense enough, I'll save the big ass party for when she graduates college.

I'm 20 and I still don't own a car, can't afford it with my income and my parents would NEVER think of buying me one either..

Anyway, this is just one of those shows you love to hate, but can't stop watching, because you feel so superior to those ignorant little brats.. They drive me crazy!! mad

I'm not from the States, and there's is nothing special about celebrating your 16th birthday here, (18th is tha bomb), so I'm just wondering if the picture the show gives is true in any way..? Is it really common to throw a retardedly HUUUGE party when a kid turns 16? confused

It is not typically huge, like how they show on tv, but many people do throw a party for their kids when they turn 16 in the US and 15 in some of the Latin American countries. I never went to a sweet 15/16 like the ones shown on this show. I didn't even have a party for my birthday shrug

I swear that as mad as I may have been at my parents as a teen, I never even thought of cussing them out. I couldn't even think of calling my mom or dad a bad word. Mind you. My parents never really hit me. I learned to respect them out of common sense. It wasn't beaten into me. I hated hearing some of my friends make comments about their parents. Stuff like "My mom is such a bitch." I hated that.

My parents didn't need to hit me! The tone of their voices scared me enough lol

I didn't always get along with my parents, especially in my teen years, but I would never show them the disrespect that these kids show to their parents. It is really frightening how some of these kids behave.
