Block Party! Yay!

My neighbor just came by and we are gonna have a block party on Sunday! We're gonna set up some basketball and volleyball courts and set up a bunch of Bar B Q's. I only know 3 of my neighbors and have interacted with the ghetto one a few times so it will be nice to meet all the neighbors and the kids and pets and what not. What a great idea. I thought that shit only happened in movies. SHould be fun!

It'd be cooler if Bloc Party could play at your block party.

..we sorta have those..since we live out in the country and all, we don't have blocks...Instead we have HOG roasts...lol..it's true..Our Uncle has one every fall and everybody and their brother attends this thing..there's a HUGE bon fire, four wheeler riding, swimming, kegs, volleyball, darts, just on and on with things to do. And of course roasting the hog, there's tons and tons and tons of food!! Good times!! woot!

My neighbors get together for a 4th of July bicycle ride/parade. It started about 10 years ago. One of the older gentlemen on our block would bring out his 4th of July type music..star spangled banner/america the beautiful/when the saints go marching in/ kinda music....and play it on loud speaker, and hand out popcycles to the kids who would come to listen, 4th of July mornings. The kids would start to show up on their bicycles, all decked out in 4th of July decorations....and dress up in red/white/blue. Soon the crowd would get so big, that a parent led a parade around a few blocks..so the kids could show off the decorated bikes. It has become a 4th of July tradition since. Very small town kinda stuff....for a big city like Santa Barbara.
