especially if you're a vegan, i would recommend this
nurturing side dish for meals once you start to get back in shape: quenoa grain, arame seaweed and aduki beans with a hint of seasalt, a few drops op lemon juice and some virgin olive oil (half a table spoon on a bowl) soak a cup of adukis for about 8 hours soak 1/4 cup of crushed arame 20 mins wash the adukis, put in a pan, drain off arame and lightly wash (you don't have to, in fact it's best not to but if you don't everything in the pan will turn black lol) then also add to the pan. simmer softly for about 20 minutes then add a cup and a half of quenoa and simmer for another 15 min take off the heat, drain and add some lemon juice and a little bit of olive oil and store in a bowl. whenever i make it i never manage to store much cuz it's so damn delicious. very minimal but very good. and if you're a vegan another thing that really gets lots of really good nutrients into your system is to combine grains. like a few tab spoons of quenoa with your rice or a mix of spelt and amaranth. etc etc. esp quenoa and amaranth mix very well with other grains and supply all the right ingredients for a perfect uptake of nutrients in the grains ok i'll stop ranting now and just give you one more tip: if you ever buy one more book on food buy this one "healing with wholefoods" by Paul Pitchford it contains just about everything anyone could ever want to know about their fruits, vegs, grains etc. with a huge amount of delicious recepies and much much information on detox and conditions. it's the one book i consult the most and value the most out of my aprox 60 food books [Edited 6/24/07 15:23pm] and true love lives on lollipops and crisps

I talked to the lady at the health store and explained to her that I was really sluggish, etc. She gave me something that came in a blue box. Had some pills, some liquid bottle thing, and some more pills, all arrange in seperate packages for AM, and PM. I had to take it for 8 days. I find that water fasting is a bit more affective, though for 3 days you simply hate the world. ALl of this requires a state of mind and optimism. Basically you have to get in the mindset that you are doing something to rid yourself of old and bad habbits. I mean, why feel deprived of something (smoking) that is killing you? It's nothing to charish. Start from that mindset no matter how cranky you are. (I kicked smoking 7 years ago. No interest to go back). But one thing you can try is taking a 30 min to an hour brisk walk every evening. Walking increases the speed of your digestive track/process which alleviates constipation (most people are mildly constipated whether they know it or not), and can make you feel a hell of a lot better in a week. Brisk walking is an amazing mood enhancer. i don't think i can handle a fast you're right - the mindset is important. basically, this is designed to "anchor", if you will, a positive mindset. i already walk my dog every day, but i may extend the walks - you're right, it makes a lot of difference. just so i don't piss off all of my clients and students, i also got some of this: pic edit [Edited 6/24/07 13:51pm] Good old rescue remedy works every time also great 4 animals 2. IstenSzek said: they only types of detox i do are whole food detoxes
starting with quitting smoking and alcohol and junk food for about a week. during this period i only drink more water and don't do anything else. second week i juice vegetables for breakfast, about 2 to 3 large glasses made up out of 9 different sorts of veggies always including fresh garlic and ginger for the rest of the day i just eat normal meals and drink herbal teas instead of coffee third week i start eat a mix of cooked seeweads and mungbeans or aduki beans with every meal. you just make a batch and put it in the fridge. very good nutrition and very strong detox value. after 3 weeks i take a month of silimarin or milk thistle capsules for liver cleansing and renewal. that's about it. i guess the crash detox works for some people but i find it very taxing on the body and it makes me feel lifeless and sick for too long. steadily cleansing and steadily replacing the tox with good healthy wholefood nutrition. i don't really believe in cure all pills, they always always always upset your bodily balance. having said all that, i've been smoking like mad again, drinking about 7 cups of instant each day and eating the worst possible food i'm such a slacker. actually, that sounds great! (not the smoking/instant coffee/crappy food thing, the detox! ) are you following some sort of program/book?

I've never actively detoxed, but I have been running a lot more for the last few weeks, and my skin is looking really clear. I think the sweating must do much the same as a food detox.
I've also been reading about exfoliation and how that not only gets rid of the dust on the surface, but helps the skin to do its job in removing toxins (I guess by physically removing barriers, or perhaps stimulating circulation?). My Legacy

I don't know about the detox thing, but I am sure you will succeed to stop smoking once again . I still see you as a non-smoker anyway and until the first time I actually see you smoke in person or you send me a picture of you doing it I refuse to change my mind . so i decided to quit smoking (starting tomorrow, of course... ) and to combine it with a detox regimen. i bought this stuff at the health food store: if it tastes the way it looks... have any of you tried this? any other type of herbal detox? don't weant to preach but quit putting toxins into your body - that's first and foremost. right there you will feel a hundred percent better. even if it's just for two weeks. exercise and lots of water and a good colon cleansing system would help too. hope you feel better soon!

I want to smoke, but I'm not exactly sure why. That's the hardest thing to resist for some reason, just like that's the toughest type of depression (compared to being depressed for a solid reason). But it really is easy if you stay strong for a while. My Legacy
