TOP TEN: KOOL-AID FLAVORS OH YEAH!!!
Remember when the Kool-Aid man use to bust out the wall? What was that all about, kids around the country was scared to take a sip of the sweet stuff, fearing a big ass talking picther of Kool-Aid would put a hole in the kitchen! Some of us still drink it, most of us don't, but every now and then, I partake in the sweet nectar of life. Black folks call Cherry, Strawberry, Raspberry, Tropical Punch, and Black Cherry, "THE RED KIND" and Grape is called, "THE PURPLE KIND" The package calls for one cup of sugar per pack, yeah right! We put at least 2 cups in there to make it real good! My Top Ten Flavors: 10: Sunshine Punch 9, Orange 8. Lemon Lime 7. Raspberry 6. Strawberry 5. Pink Lemonade 4. There was a Sky Blue one, can't remember the name of it. 3. Grape 2. Tropical Punch and the #1 Kool-Aid flavor... BLACK CHERRY ***HONORABLE MENTION*** Lemonade Apple (if you can remmeber this one, you are old school, Apple was actually the best I've ever tasted, but for some reason they discontinued it. BTW, WYLER'S Sucked!!  Life my azz muthafucka, dis is a bitness!!

Raspberry, Black Cherry, Strawberry and sometimes Grape, if we were out of the red kind. We had tons of it in the "Kool-Aid" cabinet - packet after packet after packet. Yes, it even had it's own cabinet. My dad would put too much sugar in it. I liked half the amount of sugar... that was a problem at times. I can't stand the stuff today, but my dad and brother still drink it! I used to make a kool-aid mustache on purpose. I thought I looked neat and would stand in front of the mirror and make faces at myself. Those were the days! Well, I still do that to this day... the face thing.

Back in '91, I used to work for the Timberwolves and I went back to the arena one night to finish some work, anyway the circus was in the building that night and when I was leaving, so were they. I took the frieght elevator cuz I parked inside the arena, there was a guy who was in charge of the cotton candy vendors on the elevator with me, he was high as a kite! He had a pallet with about 15 20lb bags of pure sugar, I asked him if I could have some, dude gave me 60lbs of sugar, now to make this a sweet deal, I have a friend who works at a food shelf and tons of people donate packs of Kool-Aid, for whatever reason, they don't give them out. So I called my boy, and her gave me hundreds of Kool_Aid packages! I was drinking Kool-Aid for days!!! Thats probally why I'm Diabetic now!! Life my azz muthafucka, dis is a bitness!!

I drink the Kool Aid Jammers... they come premixed in the pouches. They're good and have 100% Vitamin C... which is a plus, seeing as how I'm not a fan of most citrus fruits.  I mean, like, where is the sun? | |

On a side note--I love the hey kool aid Kool Aid guy. My favorite memory of him is from recent years. In 2000 I believe, after the Superbowl, Family Guy premiered. Cant remember the particulars, but, during the show the Kool Aid guy crashed thru the wall with his "oh yeaaah" in a very inoppurtune moment...he crashed thru the wall and everyone just stood there all quiet and he changed his expression to like say .."ooops" and then tip-toed outside back out of the crashed wall. I loved that... and that alone made me love me some Family Guy (r.i.p.) and learn to appreciate a long lost freind. "Climb in my fur." | |
