My son won't eat. Like ANYTHING. He hates everything, even the junk stuff that most picky eaters will eat.
He refuses everything. Please tell me that this is semi-normal. Oh ya, he will eat toast. That's it. Toast.

he will get bored of toast eventually.
especially if he must toast it himself. I went through a mac-n-cheese phase once...and that played itself out soon enough.

I have to basically shove it in his mouth. He'll like it but then he'll eat like 2 mouthfuls and refuse the rest.

I doubt that will help, cos JustErin still gotta take him home and feed him How about doing the whole spaz thing.. I know it sounds dreadful.. but making his meals seem like fun and arranging his food to make a face and stuff like that Either that, or as I was taught, dont let him leave the table until enough food is eaten.. he will surely give up and eat I know its a terrible waiting game, but you just not gotta give up.. mealtimes should be fun and times for the family to get together and have fun.. I am sure at such an early age he can be adapted, I know with "strong" and "hard" (on the parents side) work.. Good Luck I will love you forever and you will never be forgotten - L.A.F.

Take him a a doctor or nutritionist.
He may have hyper senstative taste buds. My youngest nephew is extremely picky, but that's mainly cause he likes nasty ass junk food and nothing else. I'm trying to persuade my sister to take him a nutritionist to figure out a eating plan that works for him. The food he's eating is NOT healthy for him and Gummy-vites only supplement what he should already be getting from his diet.

Maybe you can be sneaky and try to put things on the toast. First a thin layer of cheese, then a slice of ham etc and eventually he'll be back on a regular diet?
Hey, I tried. | |

Is he an only child? If so, your problem is that he's a spoiled brat My cousin was an only child and would literally starve because nothing we ate was to his liking. Brat brat brat brat brat 2010: Healing the Wounds of the Past.... http://prince.org/msg/8/325740

Seriously, no lie. She wouldn't eat. It was like anorexia or bulemia. When my mom would sit to feed her she would sit with her mouth full of food for hours. She wouldn't swallow. It was the weirdest thing. 2010: Healing the Wounds of the Past.... http://prince.org/msg/8/325740

They dont know a thing, and so easily parents/guardians give in to them I believe it is better to be hard on them :the motto- to be cruel to be kind (fuck knows if that is un-PC or not..) it works, children canNOT tell an adult what to do.. they need to be TOLD and learn rules and routine.. funnily enough my niece.. her Mom gave up and gave her the easy life.. now she hates the crap her Mom gives her, and when she comes to Grandmas, she is treated as an individual,is so good and polite at the table, does not squabble, uses her knife and fork properly and has impeccable manners. She waits to speak and joins in on the conversation. Back at home I believe she is given a fucking tray, shunted infront of the tv and whether she eats the crap or not, who cares? Mom doesnt.. Seriously guys, I have tried everything. Sneaking meat into the toast (I can sneak cheese in it), trying to make mealtime fun, leaving him at the table...all of it.
My kid is a big, strong, healthy kid (so his doctor has been saying since day one) he just does not like food. Not cookies, not treats, NOTHING. Supa, he'll be 2 next month. Imago, I don't think it's that because he won't even TRY anything to taste it. He loves toast and milk. That's it. I eventually cave because he needs to eat something...I have no idea how my kid grows and not only grows...grows so well. When he was younger he used to eat whatever I gave him. I'm hoping that this is just some weird phase.

I have taken care of many kids and I find that letting them pick between two choices gets them to eat. They feel like they are making the decision, but you are the one that decides what the choices are. Just don't offer toast.

I used to be like this. Now I eat everything.
I think it's pretty normal, but I think a lot of parents give in too easy and let them eat the toast, where, if they're hungry enough they'll eat dinner. My cousin's kids screamed until their mother emptied pixie sticks in a bowl for them, just before dinner. My Legacy

Make him starve. Put food in front of him and if he won't eat it he gets nothing else. Eventually he will eat. 2010: Healing the Wounds of the Past.... http://prince.org/msg/8/325740
