Shit, I would give Drawing Restraint negative stars.

I would give Drawing Restraint two stars, one each for Bjork's snoopy and Matthew Barney's dingle. giggle

I can't even remember the last three movies I've seen...

The last one was

The Fountain star 1/2 - It was pretty to look at, but I'm really not sure what Aronofsky was getting at with the whole immortality deal. Was the guy from the past the same guy as the guy in the present, and was he the same guy as the guy in the future? Was he aware he lived so long? I don't want to ruin the end, but after the little manscaping problem he had in the past, what the hell happened to him? Was it about reincarnation? What does that have to do with immortality? I liked Ellen Burstyn in it. I like her in anything.

? star star star I watched a documentary recently, but I can't remember what the hell it was. I just remember geeking over it because it was a documentary and I was in the mood for one. shrug

Yeah. I can't remember what other movies I've seen recently. I saw Disc One of "One Day at a Time", Season One and I enjoyed it immensely. lol

QUESTION.

Did you like Requiem for a Dream? I loved it! Yes Ellen is and has always been amazing?

Did you watch Pi? Should I get it?

I'd never heard of Breach until yesterday.

My girlfriend found some of them lately on Netflix in the Gay & Lesbian section in a effort to simply avoid violent movies. Say Uncle wasn't really a gay movie, but that's where she found it.

Sometimes I go to Blockbuster and look at every movie on one shelf, assuming there's got to be something good there that I've never heard of.

There's a lot of movies! I've never heard of a bunch on this thread.

I had never heard of Breach until this weekend also! My parents showed me the DVD and my first thought was "where do they find these bland films?" lol But it was pretty good, again not really my thing, but it held my interest.

I go into a Blockbuster looking for specific films and if they are out I leave--kind of like how men shop.

You should check out Shattered Glass. Same director, similar tone. It's better than Breach, though.

The way I saw it... The 'past' was not really the past but rather the dying wife's book (which contained elements of the present that filtered into her story).

The 'present' was the only 'real' part of the whole movie. Hugh was a scientist looking for a medical solution to extending life and 'curing' death and racing against time to save his wife.

The 'future' was a symbolic representation of Hugh's thinking and sub-concious as he deals with the reality of loosing his wife. It's full of symbolism but no reality, imo.

Note that after the wife asks Hugh Jackman's character to finish her book, ideas from his 'future vision' end up as part of the 'past story'.

ah, that's a good way of thinking of it. that actually makes perfect sense.

now i'm gonna go watch my special edition "codename: the cleaner" DVD again.

Next - star star star Good summer movie, and I like Nicholas Cage

Blades of Glory - star star star star I put this movie in the same league as "Animal House", which is my favorite movie of all time. Sooooo many classic lines. When the guy with the hot dog says, "Let me ask you something - does this look right?" Holy crap, I'm busting a gut at work right now just remembering that scene

I can only remember two recent movies, so that's all, but I am renting the "Reno 9/11" movie this week and fully expect to give it star star star star

THE HILLS HAVE EYES.

I i give it a four (horror film wise) because it was suspenseful and had me stressed out and jumpy throughout the whole movie. Even though it was STUPID it WAS a horror movie....so yeah. PLUS....getting raped by a mutated scar face.....SCARY.

RUNNING WITH SCISSORS

I give it a three. Low budget movies are always a plus for me. Plus the family in it kinda reminded me of my fam....but it kinda drug out a little.

SCREAM II

Watched it on TV for the gazillionth time last night. It gets FIVE STARS!!!! Cuz I don't care what you say.....the SCREAM movies rock. biggrin

I'm doin' Four.

TEXAS CHAINSAW MASACRE ( the biggining or whatever the fuck it was called)

I give 4 stars. It was too short and not a thick enough plot, but it was twisted and scary, so that was good.

You should check out Shattered Glass. Same director, similar tone. It's better than Breach, though.

I couldn't believe that Anakin Skywalker is actually a decent actor! Why is he so gawd awful in Star Wars?

It's amazing. I didn't think I would love it so much(the subject matter's kinda dry) but I found myself watching it whenever it was on tv. So, I finally broke down and got the dvd. lol
