The Secret is nothing new, particularly to anyone who's ever read any of the "positive thinking" classics like Think and Grow Rich. Napoleon Hill referred to The Secret as "Carnegie's Secret." To be sure, The Secret has value, but it's basically just a dumbed-down version of a very old theory. Mark my words, next year, copies of the book will be littering thrift store shelves everywhere, laying atop of "The Prayer of Jabez" and various Deepak Chopra books.

It's creative visualisation, what the bleep do we know, various buddhist principles and other things watered down, in my opinion.

One of its key contributors recently admitted to bank fraud, or some such thing... it's pretty much some deeper spiritual and maybe quantum physics concepts, all pleasantly packaged on dvd, in book form and in other variations just to make lots of abundance for the producers, more than the readers or viewers.

Has anyone read the book or understand the concept?

My sister insisted that this was the most powerful thing she's read in ages, and gave me her copy of the book when she was done.

I read about 3 chapters of it on the plane back to the States, but found that it seemed to "Repackage" the concepts of Creative Visualization and positive affirmation with new terms and more of a "umph" feel to it. I admit, the book seems to be the Kevin Trudeau version of Shakta Gawain's material, but other than that I don't know much about it. I still have a lot of the book to read. shrug

i read an article about it and it just seems like creative visualization revamped. which is fine, because i believe that's a good way of thinking. but it's the same thing in new drag, as far as i can see. shrug

That's exactly what it is...with a dose of "everything that's bad that happens to you YOU bring into your life"

I found Shakti Gawain's "Creative Visualization" very helpful - this not so much.
