I'll get up early but if I'm not out and about and active I can nap all day. And that's no good either. |

Maybe about 9:00am at the very latest and I think I slept that late because I was sick. I am an early riser no matter how late I go to bed.

About 5 or 5:30pm.
Usually I sleep until noon on the weekends...and I hate it. It makes me feel so lazy but I have serious sleep issues that have plagued me for years. I have no problem staying up until 2am--3am, but I hate, hate, hate getting up in the morning. I am so tired by the weekend from staying up during the weeknights and having to get up for work (which I'm always late for) that I crash on Saturdays & Sundays. Then Sunday night rolls around and it's insomnia again and the whole thing vicious cycle starts over. Today I actually got up at 11am, but then I starting cleaning my room and fell asleep from 5:30pm--9pm. So now I'm not going to be able to fall asleep. I've even gone to a neurologist--she said it's just the way my circadian rhythms are...I guess I'm just not meant to be a morning person. Not that I want to wake up at the butt crack of dawn every day, but I'd love to be able to wake up on time for work and by 10 on weekends.

I slept an entire three-day weekend save for a few pee breaks once. But that was only because I'd just come out of the ER and I had little strength to move. Oh shit, my hat done fell off

I used to get really sleepy when I looked at my economics books! I really like spicy food. I mostly put Jalapenos on a lot of my food.

The neurologist gave me a prescription, but by the time I figure out I can't sleep and should take one; it's like 2am and too late to take one (cause you need to allow 8 hours for sleep). I just have them as "emergency" back up. I don't even like to take aspirin. I might have to take one tonight though...I have a shit load of stuff to do at work tomorrow and cannot afford to be up all night tossing & turning.

Basically you take it an hour or so before you want to sleep and it makes you fall asleep. Have you tried melatin? You can buy that over the counter and it has a similar effect. I tried that too (again neurologist recommended). I hated it though...it made me feel like a zombie. Within 20 minutes I couldn't even focus/stay awake and I just ended up sleeping more and feeling out of it the next day. At least with Ambien I fall asleep, but don't feel so jacked up the next day. melatin edit [Edited 6/17/07 19:42pm]

I guess it depends on the person.....Melatin might work o.k with me. My insomnia isn't something that's major enough for prescription meds, I don't think. I just have maybe one night a week where I can't sleep at all. I know the zombie feeling too, but that comes from me occasionally taking energy pills for whenever I feel sluggish during the day. looking for you in the woods tonight Switch FC SW-2874-2863-4789 (Rum&Coke)
