here is another one for fun

Mach - your Jealousy Test Score : 18

Description of your test score:
The ExpertRating Jealousy Test Score indicates that you would be lying if you said you don't get jealous. But that does not mean you are going to let your jealous feelings sabotage this coolness thing you have been working on. You are not terribly jealous at all. You trust peoples' motives most of the time, believe that they are telling the truth, and are willing to give them a little room to explore life on their own, without feeling insecure over whether they will come back. You take a genuine interest in understanding and caring for other people. This sincerity comes across to other people, making you a treasured friend and confidante. This makes you a genuinely supportive person.

I have no SO, so nothing for me to test on. lol

As for my jealousy, I'm usually pretty secure, but there are times I can get a little bit jealous. I know it's usually silly and petty but it doesn't stop that I'm feeling that way. The times I have been most jealous in a relationship were the times I needed to get out. So all in all, it told me something.

Well, I don't have a significant other at the moment, so I can't answer this. ut I am a jealous type. But I feel it has a lot to do with the relationship and person I'm with.

I had a huge ( well SHE did lol ) argument with a friend

she was inraged that I did not feel the same as she did abut jealousy issues in relationships

It really fractured the friendship... she let her issue(s) damage a good friendship

That's kind of odd. confused I have a friend that similarly got very, very angry with me that I didn't share beliefs with her on something. I didn't understand why it made her so angry, just cause we had different thoughts on something. lol

I did the first test and the q's are definately squewed towards showing jealousy and so much in that emotion is down to intent. Perception of that is critical in jealousy. Plus i am a big believer in jealousy playing a part in a relationship. For me i want my SO to feel stongly enough about me that she wants exclusivity. Not giving a shit what you do or who you might be interested in or who may be chasing your ass hurts when that person is your SO....or at least it hurt me before so i guess i am recovering from that.

nod

That too was an underlying theme in this friendship ... I didnt see/feel anything wrong with it. She had trouble just allowing it "to be" and always was trying to pry into my head and debate ME with me, like I was a freak- well she actually told me that she thought I was ... neutral needless to say the 25 yr old friendship has drifted way apart. It is very tiresome to always be picked apart and pryed into. I just wanted to be her friend shrug

Your Jealousy Test Score : 47

The above bar graph indicates your score on a scale of 0 to 100 where 50 is considered a normal degree of the symptom/trait being tested. The higher the score, the higher the prevalence of the symptom/trait.

Description of your test score:
The ExpertRating Jealousy Test Score indicates you dwell in a lot of negative thinking. Start small and work your way up. Set goals for yourself and do your best to achieve them. Focus all your thoughts on these goals to get rid of negative feelings. With each accomplishment comes a positive feeling. The I THINK I CAN attitude really does work! Jealousy is a painful emotion. You want to build your relationships so you feel wanted, happy, and secure naturally. Put your trust to a good use and let others take charge for a while in a relationship while you sit back and enjoy the benefits. Friendships and relationships are both extremely important parts of life, and both need to be nurtured! They certainly are not exclusive - having one should not mean the harm of the other.

I do get insecure when my partner doesn't show enough interest. I do need reassurance now and then. But it depends what I expect from the relationship.
With each relationship I go through, I get more easy going and take it easier.
It all started with my first serious girlfriend who slept with my room mate. since then it's hard for me to trust.

Same. My first love cheated on me and it was forever before I allowed myself to trust anyone again. I think there's still some residual from that, but I've also grown a lot. But I don't know it will ever go away comepletely. Now I just have to step back and realize when I'm feeling irrationally jealous and also realize when my jealousy is sending me a message. You can learn from it.

I can understand that

to me "showing interest" has little to do with jealous based questioning though and I think you may be right about the trust factor

if you trust then you do not need jealous based questioning in a relationship

I'm selective about my jealousy.

If a guy flirts with my girl (when I had a girl) I would normally not care so long as the interaction wasn't "inappropriate" in which case I would be more upset at the lack of respect--and this hasn't happenned to me since my early 20's.

With friendships I tend to be very supportive of my friends. I don't get jealous of their achievements. But if one of my friends bought a nicer kayak than mine, I'd tear shit up. pissed

yeah, selective jealousy shrug
