When girls get "clingy" I know the title sounds like some porn film, but anyway...
I just came out of a relationship and the main reason was because the girl got so clingy. She is 20 years old and frankly, Iam hoping the older women get, the more independant they are and not insist on being with me all the time. This is not the first time a girl has annoyed me by calling all the time, asking me to see her all the time, telling me where I should go etc..... Ugh, Iam a guy who really likes to be on his own sometimes. She claimed i was "emotionally crippled" and so I was like "yeah, by you!". Ok, so it was a dumb thing to say, but is this a thing girls grow out of in general? Maybe I need older women? The few I have slept with were for sex only LOL, so that ain't the answer.

Do you find some men like that? I guess clingy in a male world would be abusive perhaps? U know, I cant count the amount of times I have gotten strangers jealous (look at me, Iam hardly going to steal any girl away LOL). U know, in a nightclub, Iam talking to someone and some jerk says "hey, fuck off, thats my girl" or whatever. Tossers. That must be the most common reason why I use to get into fights. Fuck it, if they throw the first punch or whatever, I ain't backing off (though I try to avoid such situations now though)

Yeah, u got some really good points there. I have had a few relationships where there has been a balance in terms of what we are talking about, but not often. Sometimes I think I dont try hard enough, and that may stem from some insecurities of my own? Its funny as this is not the first reason I have broken up with someone.

I've found that both guys and girls need to adjust & learn.
Guys think it's okay to not call for a week or two, and girls think it's okay to not let you go (physically) for a week or two. The older I get, the easier relationships have gotten because we each know better what the other needs/wants. But my first relationships were pretty shocking. [Edited 6/13/07 17:51pm] My Legacy

If she is punishing me because she thinks "hes a man, he wants it 24/7, this'll show him", then she can go right ahead. Certainly when I was a teen, I wanted it 24/7, but meh, i can go without it for a week or 2. [Edited 6/13/07 18:23pm]

Sounds like there is something about clingy girls that you are attracted to. On a subconcious level. just a thought

U know, party all the time, raves etc... I was into that sorta thing aswell at the time. Maybe i do attract vunarable girls? Maybe, as they see me as quite geeky, they think I'll do what they say. I use to have more of a bad boy side in me, but my image was anything but. As soon as I had glasses and acne, i could never look like a bad boy ever again LOL

It got a remix that was in the plebby clubs quite recently.

I used to chase after guys who didn't care about me (not that I was ever clingy or anything...I mean these were guys I couldn't have a relationship with if I tried). Then I got fed up with that stupid scenario and THEN began to attract very clingy men. But honestly, I'd rather them be clingy than uninterested. So as long as they can respect my boundaries and not resent and belittle me when I tell them I'm busy, which I will, then all is good. They can kiss the ground I walk on. [Edited 6/13/07 21:49pm]

I think some clinginess is ok in a relationship, but how much clingy is too much? I really like spicy food. I mostly put Jalapenos on a lot of my food.

Texting me telling me "are u ok today", everyday is too much. Also, if say we are meeting in an hour, her texting saying "see u in half an hour", is a bit too much. I guess Iam maybe a bit too distant and cold and some girls are a bit too clingy and obsessive.

That would irritate the hell out of me. A relationship needs a decent amount of space to thrive and grow.

Yeah, iam not trying to be macho, but that sorta then irritates me too Maybe i dont like people getting too close? But, then, i do let people get close, but it does take me time to "let people in" i guess?

[Edited 6/13/07 21:49pm] Interesting how you went from one extreme to the other, in terms on what guys you were attracting? Maybe, as I look kinda strange, i attract kinda strange people?

Back to the topic, since that other thread got derailed similarly so ( ), I wouldn't really know about clingy women. I've only had one in my life, my wife, and I'd say we're mutually clingy. We spend probably far too much time in each other's company but it works ok for us.
