Puerto Vallarta is more of a colony type of city. I happened to stay at the Marriot Casamagna and Fiesta Americana Hotels and due to the beaches having a lot of big rocks and stones we did not go into the beach at all! So Puerto Vallarta did not have banana rides or that kind of thing, but Mazatlan does. Mazatlan has a lot of package deals in which a families can get taken to different islands that are packed with activities like banana ride and stuff like that.
I think Mazatlan was a lot cheaper than Puerto Vallarta.

In Mazaltan we stayed at Inn At Mazatlan and it was pretty cool because everything was so close without the need of Taxis. Also, at this hotel they have bracelets for the guests in the Inn At Mazatlan so that people that are not from the hotel wont be wandering around.

I've heard that the eco-tours are amazing!
...but with the dwindling rainforests, you'd better hurry up & get there while there's still some jungle to be seen!
