Salzburg is such a tourist rip-off, not just the city, but also the whole region, that's one of the reasons I don't like it a lot. After all I'm a a tourist myself when I go there wink .

I sensed that from all the Japanese and Americans walking around lol

But I found the town absolutely charming in places.

I would love to do an invasion in Salzburg or in Garmisch or Munich. I found those cities really great.

I'm told the best gay clubs are in Koblenz though shrug

To me the charm of Salzburg is very old fashioned, but not in a good way shrug. I have never been to Garmisch. Munich reminds me so much of my hometown Vienna, so it's a nice city I would say, though if I was gay I would never want to live there.
I don't know anything of the gay scene in Koblenz, but I have been there once and I hated it. The people there were so unfriendly like nowhere else I have ever been to in my whole life. When you ask them something, they just turn away and totally ignore you disbelief. And the city is not beautiful either IMO, but maybe the mens asses are wink lol .

You think German men are atractive and have good asses eek ! Well if you think so, whatever floats your boat wink .

Yes!

Though they aren't all that in Bavaria. It's like once you cross the border into Bavaria, they tend to get a bit haggard in appearance. Maybe it's all the partying and good food falloff

But when I was in Frankfurt and Paderborn, gawt damn. Beautiful men.

The most beautiful women I found where in London and Paris. I"m not sure why. shrug

Good for you, so next time you should concentrate on the northern parts of Germany wink.
Beautiful women in Paris, yes I agree nod, but in London eek ?

See we Austrians actually have no idea what's it really like at all. I am sure nearly everybody here under the age of 30 has never even heard about it nod.
And who are Rogers and Hammerstein? Are they composers hmmm?

Yes, music & lyrics, respectively

For some reason it's a very popular movie. I've seen it a bunch of times and I don't even like it. My high school also put on the play.

Okay, I never heard of them.
Well I have never seen that movie, but I remember that I read the book or at least parts of it when I was a kid.

I like the idea of an Austrian invasion woot!. Though Salzburg is one of my least favourite cities in Austria, but still a cool idea lol.

oh, did I mention how expensive Salzburg was?

I had laundry service done on my clothes at the Sheretan (2 pair of jeans, 6 pair of underwear, 4 tshirts, and 4 pair of socks). The grand total was 207 Euros falloff

After my mother and I got over the initial shock that we just paid 270 US bucks or so for laundry, we laughed our asses off falloff

Dude, you got rippped off by some austrian laundry-dude and you didn't even know it!!!! falloff falloff falloff

Vienna is for effete leftwing intellectuals, sitting around in smoke filled cafes sipping their kleine Braune and practicing their schmaeh . It's the New York City of Austria.

Kufstein is like Waco TX! woot!

They are very talented composers, on par with Cole Porter (in my opinion), and their songs are loved around the world.

The history of why the Sound of Music doesn't jive well with Austrians is fully explained in the tour, and makes perfect sense. The American version is based off a a musical play and is not true to the original story, which was a very German story and not nearly as upbeat. The Sound of Music is viewed largely by Austrians as a mockery of the original vision--and rightfully so.

But it's still great fun music
