NEW YORK -- A landscaper died on Long Island on Tuesday after falling into a cesspool, police said.
Sergio Reyes, 34, was using a standup lawnmower at a Deer Park home when the cesspool collapsed underneath him. The lawnmower fell on top of him, pinning him in the pit.
Reyes was rushed to Good Samaritan Hospital, but to no avail. It was unclear whether he was crushed or drowned.

The landscaper was a native of El Salvador who had been in the United States for 18 years. He leaves behind a 4-year-old daughter.

The worst way to die for me is the trampoline/knife scene from "Thanksgiving" in "Grindhouse" Just brought back cringe worthy visuals. I guess I shouldn't think about horrible ways to die, because painful freakish deaths is one of my biggest fears.

Oh man, I've been wanting to do that, now I'll be thinkin' about being split into a million pieces at a rapid speed. Kinda like the scene from Resident Evil where that man is trapped in that portal and those lasers multiply and slice him up into god knows how many pieces. I think with something like that,it'll happen so fast that I won't even feel it, but jumping on a sharp butcher knife going through my is gruesome to even think about. Once a father and son (also here on Long Island) died the same way - although I think that the dad was working on the cesspool and it caved in under him...then his son tried to rescue him and BOTH drowned in it.


There's a section of my front lawn that appears to be sinking a bit. It scares me to think that maybe there could be an abandoned cesspool tank in there, which could one day collapse as I walk over it.
