NO -- you won't find spoilers for book 7 posted here!! Whadaya think I am, a communist?

But I would like to know how they control for such things. I mean, this is the most popular series of books in decades. The manuscript for book 7 has to have existed in electronic form (which is very, very susceptible to thieving) for some time. Teams of execs, editing crews, binders, etc., must've read it -- or at least skimmed through it -- already. And NO ONE has leaked, despite the fact there's likely buckets of money to be made!! How is that?

Anyone got any information?

Ive seen a couple of torrents out there that claim to be the leaked version, but I haven't paid much attention to them. After Goblet of Fire I think the books kinda lost the spark.

It doesn't ruin anything for me because I tend to forget what I know about the story while I'm actually reading it.
On the other hand, the first book was kinda ruined for me by the illustrations at the beginning of each chapter. I saw the illustration for "The Man with Two Faces" (Quirrel unwrapping his turban). That kinda rankled me.

I've actually never read a Harry Potter book. I just want to know how they keep the plot secrets so well before the street dates.

What's amazing to me is that JK Rowling even wants to end the series... Yeah, 7 books is a lot but people would certainly buy more. She could toss out a new one every 5 years and be even more set for life than she already is. Has she made any statements on what she's going to do next?

My personal theory is that the lightening scar is Volds last whatever its called, all the things he hid that Harry and Drumbledore were trying to find. Harry will battle him using the scar and defeat Voldy but also destory the scar's spell leaving harry without any magical abilities.

i hope theres no leaks, i no on the day of sale after the rush is over (oh, did i mention i work in a book shop?), i'll b taking my copy home and locking myself away until i've finished.

I agree. I think he'll have magic, but his scar will be gone. The last word of the last book is "scar", I think she revealved that years ago. It was among the first chapters she ever wrote, supposedly.

LOL it would be a nice life for sure, but she's already said she'll be releasing an HP related book containing obscure facts, unused info, etc... (the book equivilent of DVD extras, I guess. ) just not continuing the story. I haven't heard her say she'll quit writing, though. So I was curious.

I read that she's going to write "Hogwarts: A History," the book Hermione is always refering to, for charity like she did the two Hogwarts textbooks. I'd love for it to be a longer read, telling the complete story of the four founders as well as the Voldemort years and stuff. I also wish, since she doesn't want to write any more Potter books, if she'd open up the world she created to other writers the way George Lucas did.
