blecch, i don't like those. they put TOO MUCH flavor in and they're always sweet. i much prefer squeezing a drop of RealLemon or RealLime in a glass or bottle of cold water; THAT is yummy.

Anx, did you try the peppermint extract yet?
heart prince I never met you, but I LOVE you & I will forever!! Thank you for being YOU - my little Princey, the best to EVER do it prince heart

Well, I'm still a smoker too. So I guess I live dangerously. lol

Oh we all do! I eat plenty of junk food and other crap, I just figured it's better to drink regular Coke with pretty much the same flavour and common sugar-effects as the main drawback than to even risk getting some of the crazy symptoms in the list above. Call it the much lesser of two evils if you will.

Not when you don't need the calories, though. smile

not yet...i've seen some healthy-schmealthy looking waters with peppermint, though i'm holding out to actually add the extract like ya said. nod

Do they note that a side effect of sugar is getting fat? smile

Like I said, I'd rather put up with any of the side effects of sugar than any of the side effects of aspartame. shrug

And that's cool too. I just think everything in moderation is still the key, and that includes artificial sweeteners.

I honestly don't drink those. Flavor is overrated.

I think it depends what is at stake. Radiation can be taken in moderation too, but if you get too much you get cancer... Aspartame is not quite that bad but you still risk getting a shitload of serious diseases. But if you feel like it's worth the risk, then by all means keep drinking the stuff. I'm not trying to stop you. smile

while we're at it, from what i'm reading we should probably also be giving up meat products, spinach, sex, toothpaste made in china, and the sun. nod

Nope, that's not a fair comparison since we don't have a better alternative for for example the sun. It is however very simple to drink regular Coke instead of Coke Zero.

No, if you'd paid any attention at all you would have read that it's the fact that it doesn't contain aspartame that makes it less death inducing.

But I still don't think you've convinced me it's the better alternative. The syrup from regular coke is caustic and must be transported with toxic warnings and if you drop a nail in a glass of coke it will dissolve in a couple of days. It's ALL bad for you. lol
I think it still comes back to moderation, for both the high fructose corn syrup and the artificial sweetener kinds.

Of course it's all bad for you, we've already established that. It's just that some of it is worse than the rest, and if you, even after having read all the information and discussions on this thread, still think Coke Zero is the one that's less bad then by all means keep drinking it. We should all do what we believe is best for us. Just don't blame me if you eventually get sick. wink

I love Coke Zero. Diet Coke is a mess compared to that nod I have yet to try the cherry stuff but I bet it's great. Still though, it makes me feel like i'm in an invisible box. Not as hardcore as diet coke but definitely still feel it lol

LOOK, PEOPLE:

*ALL I KNOW IS*

a) i put some cherry coke zero in my mouth and it touched my tongue and it was a pleasant experience.

b) i put some vanilla coke zero in my mouth and it touched my tongue and it was a pleasant experience.

if it kills me, damn it, it beats being mauled by a pack of wolves or gangbanged by zombies. at least i'll go out of this world refreshed!

i'm more scared of a car on fire veering at me and running me over than i am of death via coke zero. if that means my priorities are out of whack, i can accept that.

did you know nostradamus predicted you'd post that very response?

not even nostradamus - it was his sister debbiedamus. she worked at costco as a greeter until she was fired for coming to work drunk.

i hope you're proud.
