What's a good inexpense camera for a twelve year old beginning photographer?
My son is expressing an interest in photography.

I would say something like a fuji finepix s5000 loads of adjustability so he can learn, point and shoot to start,built in flash and 6 mega pixels so he can shoot and not worry about developing costs...decent res and if he drops the idea its a good semi compact camera for the rest of the family

Anything that's compact and simple and fully automatic. To overwhelm him with technical choices and possibilities might make him lose interest. At this stage he just needs to point and shoot and enjoy seeing pictures come out of it.
