Formula feeding Parents.....

What were your reasons behind feeding your babies formula instead of breast milk?

Just curious.

I never understood it.

I breastfed each of my kids for almost a year. I have friends who used formula, and most of them cite serious problems with breastfeeding. I suspect that for some of them this is true, but for others they didn't want to bother.

woot!

Maybe AGAIN its just where I live then.

I got TOTALLY made fun of for bf'ing my two. By my In Laws n all.

I even had to stay in the hosrital with my son for 2 extra days cuz he wouldn't latch on, and FINALLY I go him to eat, after I almost gave up.

It was exhausting the first couple months....cause I think my milk wasn't coming in right cause I wasn't eating enough maybe.

But it was WORTH IT in the end.

Thats awesome!

Thats how I was with Daisy....but not Noah.

I think it was a supply demand thing.

Like Daisy fed like a BARRACUDA, where Noah did not.

And he STILL hardly eats much to this day, where she DOES.

I MISS those days! sad

I have to say that I have no problem with how or what others choose to feed their children though

really it's to each their own

It is.

I just don't understand it. So I was wondering what made people make that decision.

Lak of support? Lack of knowledge? Lack of time/patience? Thought it was gross?

my miah gets special formula from the hospital, has certen extra stuff in it to help her liver. I actualy prefer bf, they say it makes for a closer relationship between babys and their mothers but you can have just as close a relationship with formula, all depends on the attention you give the babe as your feeding.

Breastfeeding is much better, strengthens the immune system, protects against allergies and creates a stronger bond between mother and child.
