Health Insurance...the future What are your thoughts about your premiums skyrocketing if you are a smoker or overweight or have high blood pressure???
This is where our health system is heading in the U S. What if you are a drinker? Higher premiums. How far will this invasion go? What about the gays? Riskier lifestyle means higher premiums. Cell phone usage while driving? Riskier Where do you draw the line? Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.

Hopefully with Michael Moore's new movie coming out, health care might be made single payer--free. Yippee. All you others say Hell Yea!!

Our work just spent $$$ on preventative type stuff, spurred, i'm sure, by the health insurance carrier. We got websites, 24 hr nurses to call, healthbooks etc...
I got the idea that this is all voluntary now..but it won't be down the line. Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. Ya know I work in the health care industry and it's all about profit- not to say med services aren't expensive, but damn over the last 2 years shit has gone wack!
There's no reason why in America all shouldn't be covered- receiving care and meds at low costs- but that would cut out toooo many people making big bucks. Drew's heart attack was $100,000. His brain tumor surgery $80,000. We had to and are still are paying off 20% of that- $36,000! That doesn't include meds and the many follow up dr apts. We still owe about $9,000... Socks still got butt like a leather seat...

They mentioned that new film on the news. I really like spicy food. I mostly put Jalapenos on a lot of my food.

Yeah...they're gonna change the health care system cuz Michael Moore says so. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

Michael's movie will get more discussion going - hell, even Faux News gave him a glowing review! there is absolutely no reason why we shouldn't have a single-payer system. that is, unless you're the CEO of a healthcare or pharmaceutical company...

I'm not a fan of Michael Moore's but this movie definately has my interest.
There is PLENTY of room... MILES of room for improvement in the current system. I'm firmly planted in denial

Drs apts are $65-120 for oh about 10-15 mins, blood work runs about $200- and then ins doesn't want to pay because they feel you're going to the dr toooo much! Ins companys are ran by accountants and lawyers- but don't call customer serv, yer gonna get someone from India who doesn't understand an American southerner- and my accent isn't that bad! LOL!!! Here's a great example of how twisted pharm ins is- Drew used to take Protonix (brand name) for his stomach- it runs about $130 for 30, one a day. They wanted him to change to omeprazole (generic Prilosec)- to get the benefit of Protonix, Drew has to double up on the omeprazole, getting number 60 per month, two a day. THAT COST $165 for 60!!! Since it's generic we pay $15, the ins company pays more on that than they woulda on Protonix (copay for that would be $25). AND it was covered until 2 months ago! Stupid isn't it? Socks still got butt like a leather seat...

Lord I've been with the same man going on 13 years- and for now, we pay the same $ for ins as "normanl" married couples do. Socks still got butt like a leather seat...
