Appollonia said: Hey guys - as you will already know Savage and I who met at a Prince Party in London 3 years ago got engaged this April!!!
I just wondered if any of you guys out there had any pics of Mayte's wedding dress, and also, does anyone know anybody who makes/sells wedding dresses in the UK (NW region). I want something a bit different. I am thinking of having my bridesmaids in fifties style dresses with the skirt with the netting and a cool polka dot pattern (hopefully in purple) This is a wedding on a budget so anyone with any money saving tips or ideas please post Much love. Kat CONGRATULATIONS! Wedding dresses, hmmm, unique ones plus money saving tips...let me see.. Well first off although most every girl, not all want a big fairytale like wedding but remember, it is just one day. The most important thing is to think about the many days and years afterwards with your mate so I would suggest staying within a small budget. You can even have a very small ceremony and then a beach reception or even a cook-out reception in a large yard, yours or in a relatives. Forget about the high priced reception halls. The reception is for your guests anyway, they will have a nice time regardless. **Keep the Limo though.... 1. Save money on invitations by creating your own. Your local office supply store would have what you need. 2. Save money on the wedding favors by making your own (get your Maid of Honor and Bridesmaids to help you) 3. Save Money by using real and silk flowers (a real flower bouquet and beautiful silk bouquets for your girls-for HIS flower on the lapel, REAL and for his guys, silk) 4. Hiring a cook at the cook out or beach wedding can be a lot cheaper than having a caterer and the many helpers at a regular reception hall. But a caterer will help alot at any reception location. 5. The photographer? Keep him or her, pictures are very important. Want a videographer? It's a great idea but use your connections, anyone in the family good at holding a CAM? or does anyone know of a professional or semi-professional who will give you a discount? 6. You may want the MOST unique gown out there. Get a sketch pad and design your gown then go shopping to find a similar one or contact a seamstress who may be able to fulfill your need for less than the price of a store bought gown. You can even save money on your gown by shopping at a thrift store (hey go the the wealthier section of towns thrift store, you may find a gem!) 7. How about that cake? hmmm....don't spend too much money on something that is readily eaten but make sure it IS beautiful. 8. The Honeymoon....well, we all know how important that is! but you can get travel package discounts. If you or your husband have a credit card you may want to contact your credit card companies to see if they offer a travel discount program. If so use it (there will be a charge of course, usually it's a low monthly fee after the first 30 days) and when you are back from that money-saving trip, cancel the program. Wishing you the best for this special life-changing occaion. | |
