Wedding Dress for a Prince Wedding Hey guys - as you will already know Savage and I who met at a Prince Party in London 3 years ago got engaged this April!!!
I just wondered if any of you guys out there had any pics of Mayte's wedding dress, and also, does anyone know anybody who makes/sells wedding dresses in the UK (NW region). I want something a bit different. I am thinking of having my bridesmaids in fifties style dresses with the skirt with the netting and a cool polka dot pattern (hopefully in purple) This is a wedding on a budget so anyone with any money saving tips or ideas please post Much love. Yes,it is hard to tell. The sleeves, perhaps the whole bodice looks like lace. The skirt looks short in the front and long in the back, possible made of silk duchess satin [Edited 6/10/07 10:50am] "Nobody makes me bleed my own blood...NOBODY!"

Cool - I found some amazing dresses the other day that would have been perfect for bridesmaids dreses - white with pale lime green and yellow polka dots and a net under bit - halter neck style - very fifties ish - so cute - but they only had two and I need three. )

Kat Congrats! Here is what my friend did for flowers which was cheaper than hiring a florist: she chose flowers that were "in season" when she got married (April/tulips). She arranged with a florist (or maybe someone who owned a greenhouse) to buy several boxes of tulips wholesale, she bought wire and that green florist tape. The morning of her wedding her bridesmaids & friends made the boutineers and bouquets. The bouquets were very simple, and it wasn't that hard to make the boutineers. She made her bouquet with all white tulips and some hosta leaves (from her mom's outdoor hosta plants) to supplement her bouquet. It was very pretty. A parting word of advice as a wedding guest many, many times over: Do not scrimp on the reception food! Especially if you are having an afternoon or evening wedding. Not saying you have to have caviar and foie gras, but make sure you have enough food and it's yummy. I have been to a lot a weddings, what I remember the most is not the vows or the dress, but whether the reception had good food. The worst wedding I ever went to had a 5 o'clock wedding so by the reception everyone was starving! The reception had relish trays (carrots, celery, radishes), lil' smokies (mini-hot dogs in bbq sauce) and no alcohol! (It was in a dry county in Georgia!) I was willing to pay for my own drinks, but the only choices were tap water or soda. Awful.

If I ever get married again, I'm wearing Vera Wang.....I'll try to find a used clothing boutique somewhere....(of course my hubby would have to leave me 1st)
I suppose we could do a re-hashing one's vows ceremony. Nawwww...

what a lovely way 2 meet- at least you guys wont argue over music
congratulations and good luck 2 both of u, heres 2 a very long and happy life 2gether may all your dreams come true.... when i was choosing brides maid dresses 4 my wedding, i had a gorgeous purple material all picked out- but they didnt have enough material- 4 dresses x 9-10metres per dress -couldnt get it anywhere in australia. had 2 go with blue instead- turned out okay tho with our wedding, we did all the running around 4 the reception-ie napkins decorations etc- a lot cheaper than getting the venue 2 do it (if that is an option) we also had a friend use calligraphy for our invitations and place cards- a lot cheaper than getting it printed- mind u that was nearly 13 years ago- home computers have come a long way in that time [Edited 6/10/07 20:17pm] seems that i was busy doing something close to nothing, but different than the day before

Kat I am meeting Sarah on Thursday and I shall ask her then. As I said on myspace she has loads of Prince related photos and loved Mayte, so I'm sure she will have something.
