Second Life

Who else here has a Second Life profile?

I subscribed last week. It's big fun. I laughted my ass off.

Second Life is a 3-D virtual world entirely built and owned by its residents. Since opening to the public in 2003, it has grown explosively and today is inhabited by a total of 7,148,028 people from around the globe.

From the moment you enter the World you'll discover a vast digital continent, teeming with people, entertainment, experiences and opportunity. Once you've explored a bit, perhaps you'll find a perfect parcel of land to build your house or business.

You'll also be surrounded by the Creations of your fellow residents. Because residents retain the rights to their digital creations, they can buy, sell and trade with other residents.

The Marketplace currently supports millions of US dollars in monthly transactions. This commerce is handled with the in-world unit-of-trade, the Linden dollar, which can be converted to US dollars at several thriving online Linden Dollar exchanges.

If u wanna join Second Life: www.secondlife.com . It's free.

Don't you have to pay money in order to get land there?
I don't think I could pay money for anything virtual. Not even porn.

From what I read on the website, to buy land, you have to pay. It's free to play the basic stuff, but to do business and buy land or a house, you have to pay for a premium membership or something of the sort.

I am no SL expert but u can also earn money. I am not interested in the money. I'm there just for the fun. There are also Prince fans there. U can fly, dance, go windsurfing, drive racecars, watch movies, visit cafes, go to the beach and even have virtual sex.
