Actually the guys who did State of Emergency was called "VIS" (they are just around the corner from my flat) and it was published under Rockstar Games. Different developer to GTA3, but they are very good guys.
GTA3 was developed by another developer - DMA Design who are now called Rockstar North, in Edinburgh. Most of my workmates are ex-DMA Design, and the company was founded by someone I work with. They did games like Lemmings, Grand Theft Auto, Wild Metal Country, Silicon Valley, Tanktics etc. Vice City looks absolutely brilliant - over 9 hours of 80s music, along with helicopters and motorcycles Check out these related sites: http://www.kentpaul.com http://www.degenetron.com http://www.rockstargames.com/vicecity

And, the site for international orders will be: http://www.sonymusic.com/...ernational I've been checking out the movies of the game up on IGN and the helicopters look like great fun. I know quite a few of the lads in Rockstar and even they still love the game (which is unsual, usually by the time you reach the end of a long development cycle you can't wait to see the back of it). Quick tip from Ian: don't buy Mario Sunshine for GameCube. I've been playing it recently and it stinks, really buggy with a very annoying camera

I heard it rumoured that you can rape women in GTA3. Is this true? I mean, why would the designers put that in the game??? -------------------------------------------------

I'm not a big gamer, but I have GTA and Midnight Club - Street Racing. This older ps2 game has the distinction of having WTC graphics in the New York option. You can actually drive in the underground garage and roam on the WTC site.. creepy!

Much love Pochacco Yeah the water is lovely but the swimming system was better in SM64 in my opinion. And ICO had the nicest water of any video game

id make great game technology, not great games I am a retired "Quake'er"... so watch your language!!! Hey i was a quake player too back in the day but id really aren't what I'd call a "games studio" - they make kickass 3D engines and license the crap outta them. Their games are pretty miserable shooty affairs with no real attention to good game design, but each iteration of their technology drives the industry for years afterwards.

NO of course it isn't true. There's been a lot of silly things said about GTA3 by the "hysterical parents brigade" in the media, and it has done nothing but help sales Really, when you look at the original GTA, the only cool thing about it was the subject matter and the music - it already looked very dated when it was released. But thanks to the news coverage of the "controversial" subject matter it sold by the bucket load I can't play the original GTA now though... the zooming in-and-out camera makes me seasick

You could always get a pre-2001 copy of Microsoft Flight Simulator with the New York maps ... now that WOULD be spooky.
