I'm only a week younger than you, and I share your anxiety about turning 40 in a few years. As a teenager I couldn't wait to be an adult. In my 20's I partied and whored and spent too much time having fun to think about being really happy.
In my 30's I've learned how to enjoy life and be happy and healthy, and have also become acutely aware that time is taking it's toll and flying by.
Life is too short.

Again...thanks to everybody. It's nice to see a lot of you again.

I think one of my biggest fears about 40 is that life is indeed "too short"...
I've been starting to reflect on regrets...(yes, I've had a few )
reflecting on friends that I've made, friends I've lost, my wasted years, the life changing decisions I've made, my mother, my life here in Holland, (which is still wonderful by the way...thank god... 5 years now), plans I had at 18, where I am now, where I'm going, am I a good step mother and what will I be most remembered for.

Strange things, some of them...but enlightening. It's nice to take inventory of your life and put things in perspective. (I've become somewhat of a champion of that)

I guess I'll just go about it the way I normally do...one day at a time, with little to no stress. That's one great thing about getting older, the stress seems to decrease. Thank god!
