For those of you who don't already know, we have a really LOVELY orger who serves and leads troops (i think... i don't understand military structure of command well ) in iraq, and i think it's time we show him we support him and the people he leads.

i, as i am sure you aware if you've ever set foot in p&r, am majorly opposed to the war in iraq, and have been since day 1. HOWEVER, i support our troops, who are doing their job, which is to do exactly as they are instructed.

our boys and girls are over there and need to be brought home.

in the meantime, let's show them that while we may not agree with what they are required to do, we care for them and are not shooting the messenger.

earlier in his deployment, renegade was sent some stuff from orgers, and doled it out to the people serving with him. i asked him what could they use or what do they need, and he said the following:




so, let's donate some stuff. tiny things we would never think would make a difference make a huge difference to them, and show them we care about them.

if you feel moved to mail something, no matter how small, please orgnote me. I will give you renegade's address in orgnote (as i don't want to just put it out there for respect of privacy reasons)

please... do NOT send perishable food items. they will go bad before they get there. beef jerkey is a great idea if you want to send food. (thanks xplain)

and here's a bit of extra motivation. anyone who truthfully sends something (and please be honest, i am working on the honor system here) and would like a copy, can have a free dvd of "just like magic" the show i co-wrote last year on dvd, as long as you promise me you have sent something.

This isn't really the thread for a tirade but I would hope that the troops can separate politics from the situation better than politicians can. They deserve to be treated like gold and they are not. Let's show them some real love

OK....first off, I want to thank any and everyone who even considers taking time from their busy lives to send anything out here....I could never tell y'all in a million lifetimes how much small acts like this affect troops who, in my case, are coming up on a year knowing that we've still got an additional 3 months to go....(special thanx to G-dub for that one!!) In any event, I have no reservations whatsoever in claiming the Org as the worldwide family I always hoped I would one day have.... And if you're out there wondering how somehthing like this will clash with your feelings about this whole thing, don't worry about it....as many here can attest, I respect pro and con completely....whichever side of this debate you fall on, all I ask is that you protest with your loudest possible voice....but keep a spot in your heart open for us in the middle of it all....

So for now, again, thanx!!! If I address everyone who has responded so far in open forum, my message will get edited for duration..... I will hit y'all back in orgnote, because I want to personally (as personally as one can in cyberspace) send a thank you....I just had to hit Mach back on the air because she's always been one of my most vocal supporters, from the get....and of course, lots of love out to Chris....to me, one of the best people in the world that I hope to meet one of these days....

....and I'm slowly but surely getting my time management down to a science in my new locale, so I'll be popping in a bit more often.....
