For me if a guy is hating on going to museums and reading about geology and science for fun then he is not interesting to me. The last guy I talked to was all like, "That stuff is so nerdy and boring". I know it's his opinion, but it means we don't share interests.

I like all those things too but I don't need my man to also be into it. I can do those things on my own or with friends that also enjoy it.

True but its nice to be able to share the things you love doing with that special person in your life.

I'm somewhere between the two of you on this one. nod I don't expect my mates or anyone I'm dating to like the same things as me - they never do, anyway confused lol I half expect it - but it's when people are completely dismissive towards someone else's interests that I get pissed off. neutral

There's piss-taking (which is perfectly natural) and then there's ignorance. Sometimes I'd rather keep my passions to myself if it means I have to don't have to go through the rigmarole of explaining them. I feel like I'm cheapening them, almost. It feels like someone calling your new-born baby ugly.

Hanging out in music stores and big ass bookstores for hours.

Foreign films

Comic book stores (Yes, I'm a geek.)

Going to a batting cage

Having a "Twin Peaks" marathon

Documentaries on anything (Anx, I'm with ya, partner)

Weird food (if a woman turns her nose up to at least trying sea urchin, she doesn't get a second date).

i'm for ALL this stuff except for the batting cage (i'm allergic to sports, it makes me break out in a rash of ennui) and, well, i'm too vegetarian to eat sea urchin but i hear ya - if i'm on a date with someone and i suggest indian or even thai and they're like, "ewww, i don't eat WEIRD FOOD", yeah, that'll be the last date. disbelief

I used to spend longer getting ready (and yes, with the whole ritual that goes w/ it) than I would actually end up being out. lol I guess being a performer has made me see absolutely EVERYTHING as a "show". lol redface

Just gettin' ready for the show. biggrin

Reading
Silence
Spending time with my dog
Writing
Being by myself
Yoga

I have a long list, but this is just a few. My ex-husband told me once I was "f*cking boring"...there is a modicum of truth to that statement!

biggrin hug

TOTALLY essential. My housemates *never* understand it but it puts that little, you know, spring in my step. mr.green

I would much rather leave others to their own devices and meet them out later if that means going out when I feel 'ready'. And that's what usually happens. giggle My mates are just used to it.
