i know she's a spoiled brat, and has led a life smoothed over by tons of $$, and has become a celebrity based on nothing more than her wealth and partying ways... she seems totally vapid and yet...i feel really sorry for her.

maybe she'll develop some kind of strength of character to get her through this. maybe she'll discover a side of herself she didn't know and will maybe even grow up a little bit (hopefully, a lot). this could be an experience that turns her around.

Shit they made Kim do her time and not in the same cushy type facility that Martha spent her time in... They put Kim in with the hardened criminals
Kim served five months FOR TELLING A LIE! Paris drives fucking drunk, yet again, could have fucking killed someone and she goes to jail for three days.

Kim's sentence was 1 year and 1 day, and she got out only 2 months early and one of those two months was 30 days house arrest. Granted Perjury is a felony and a DUI and driving on a suspended liscense are misdemeaners (sp?). Nevermind she violated her probation. I think the justice system has failed greatly with this Paris bullshit. She has constantly broke the law and endangered the lives of innocent people. She needs to pay the price for the crimes she committed. She needs to suck it up, she made her bed now she has to lie in it. If it was any other person, we would be sitting with our asses in jail and doing out time. Also the fact that this sherrif sent her home instead of sending her to a jail hospital fucking irritates me. He blantantly broke the orders of the judge who said in his orders that home detention with electronic monitoring devices could not be used in leiu of serving time in jail. I am so glad we have a justice system that works for those with money and for those who don't have a lot rolleyes

Ok so let me run a small amount of devils advocate here. I do think she is ill equipped for the present situation, ( this brings me great joy because despite her greatly delusional up bringing there is a chance the lass might pick up something)

I strongly feel that in days gone by, she would have been brought to the gallows for a crime of arrogance as the crime she is charged with in 52 prior cases brought almost NO jail time.

To the point: It concerns me more that we the people are easily brought to mob mentality. ( only to a degree.....) Proponents will argue that poor or less known individuals would be serving a full sentence but the sheriff pulled the 52 similar LA cases which of course cross the board and near none served any time for said charges!! Them are the facts,

This said: I feel this is a case where the people really cried out exhaustion with celebrities or the monied getting off as there have been a rash of such cases in recent years.

I am certain that after Monday, she will be released one way or another and if the concern is weather or not the message was conveyed not to repeat that or any other crime .. The message was in fact received loud and clear.

It is easy to despise those of position for having it and flaunting it.... I wonder if any consider how little difference you may exude given a similar life? Strife causes humans to excel vastly but again I wonder, if one removed the strife from your personal lives and gave it a charmed existence, would you be the person you now are?
I say nooooo way!

So therefore, I am am thankful for the turmoil and differences that made me the woman I am.

I do think that these realizations of vulnerability will serve a similar purpose in Parris life.Granted it is likely she will feel railroaded but some part of her will fear breaking any law or causing any disturbance and after all that is what we the people and or the law really seek right? CHANGE?????

Bottom line. She broke the law, and broke the terms of her probation. She needs too pay for what she did.

It deeply concerns me that the justice system wavers so much based on public opinion... not a good thing.

Also disturbing is the public's hatred for this woman... I don't get it.

Paris was not Charged with DUI, that charge was dismissed. She is serving time cause she was driving on a suspended license.

True but it still does not make it better because she was out on the roads driving drunk and she is lucky she did not kill anyone. Lohan, is lucky she hit a tree and not a person last week also. It just makes me sick that all of these celebrities are doing this crap, and getting away with it. They are not only putting themselves in danger, but innocent people are being put in jail.

I hear you though Muse....

Maybe it isn't FAIR but life isn't fair.

I think this is life getting her a little unfairness in hopes to wake her up and stop with the madness. She IS being punished for more than the "crime" itself..I am starting to see that the more I've learned via this thread and others that she's getting more time than most....lol...but damn, why just just go quietly like Martha, Lil Kim or Robert Downey Jr.

It's time to shift the blame a bit - her parents are fucking monsters. They've filled this girl with NOTHING but the sense that money will buy her everything in life. That she doesn't have to be ABOUT anything, except the physical things that surround her. If this broad can't bring herself to "eat jail food" b/c it's not up to her standards, then fuck her. If she doesn't have ANYTHING inside herself that can get her through 40 days or whatever the sentence is now, then fuck her. & fuck her parents too. She's coasted her entire life thinking it's all a party when it's far from it for most - THAT'S what ain't fair. If she doesn't "survive" this, I won't feel bad at all...

twocents

well Amen....dang...lol

We forget that this is a GROWN woman. Not some teenager..

you are right though. Paris' parents are to blame more than Paris herself.

I REALLY do hope that she learns something.

personally i think you're right. paris is the product of too much wealth and self indulgence. as Muse said, adversity and challenges in life really do make us stronger. it sucks having to get up and go to work everyday but doing this helps us develops strength of will and character. teaches us values and self-sufficiency. paris has likely never had to do much of anything she didn't choose to do, so her character will reflect that, as we've seen.

in a way, though, it's also the fault of the american public that paris is as spoiled and useless as she is. we have a culture that worships celebrities for little more than the fact that they look good on the big screen. what's up with that? our true heroes are our teachers, our fireman and women, etc. and yet we pay them shit wages and reward the paris hiltons of the world with reality TV shows and huge salaries.

at least some of the blame lies with the audience, not just with the misbehaving star. the lindsay lohans and paris hiltons of the world are the way they are because we don't demand that our cultural heroes and heroines actually have any real substance. we, the audience, are too easily satisfied with smoke and mirrors. neutral

You know,Paris could have redeemed herself if she had served her original sentence of 23 days.Go in there,do the time, then move on with her life! But instead she had to act like a big, spoiled baby, stay only three days and then rush home to mommy and daddy, complaining of "health problems" rolleyes This is why so many people hate her.She comes across as a rich, spoiled bitch who believes that she can do whatever she wants.

In any case,I'm thrilled that she wasn't able to buy her way out of this mess lol Much props to the judge!

I've just been hearing that the time given for this was excessive. I didn't realize it. Most don't even get a week for this. Some orgers and folks on tv have pointed this out smile.

This entire situation is happening for a reason in her life. Hopefully she will take heed.

whether she was given a particularly harsh sentence or not, that sheriff screwed the pooch by letting her out early without first talking to the judge. now the sheriff's talking about how he only treated paris as he would treat anybody else, but she is not like anybody else.

he should have warned the judge that he was about to unleash a shitstorm of media coverage by letting her go home with an ankle bracelet in direct violation of the well publicized sentencing orders. the judge can't just sit on his hands at this point. he had to send her back.
