Hey militant, long time!

hmm..romance....it should come natural or at leat look as if you haven't planned it too much. serendipity..thats what its all about.

taking a walk by a river, a simple picnic with a bottle of wine, and a blanket (make sure theres a local pub nearby...girls do need the bathroom after wine!.thats good planning)
just chatting and laughing together should do it. spending time together is the most romantic thing is this very busy world

oh and a huge box of chocs. lol
headbang
How, i'm gonna make that booty boom...step back, give a girl some room....OH booty!

I'm a fan of the small gestures. Tuck a card or even just a note in her briefcase, bag or backpack. It doesn't even have to be sappy, something that'll make her laugh works just as well (at least it does on me).

Bring home flowers once in a while "just cause".

Draw her a bath with yummy bath stuff.

small consistant gestures

really though, "romance" is such a personal taste ...it is SHE you should be asking for ideas

if she doesnt like candy or flowers she wont see that as romantic

you should really ask her what it is she desires

best wishes rose

I agree about the small gestures.

As for something more dramatic, one of the most romantic things my sweetie has done for me is she noticed when I mentioned my favorite flower, peach-colored roses, and then bought me a peach-colored rose bush and planted it in her yard. mushy

Wash her feet and then massage them with oils or nice moisturising creams while you watch your favourite TV show together.

I used to be Mr. Romance a long time ago. The small surprise goes a long way. Buy that CD she wants and put it in her car CD player. Come home from work early, prepare a ritzy meal with candles and wine and surprise her when she walks in the door (hint: If you can't cook, get carryout entrees from a fine restaurant. The chefs are always ready to help in a situation like this.) The small note can't be overlooked either. Write "You still have the best ass I've ever seen" and fold it inside a pair of her panties in the top drawer.

The book 1001 Ways to be Romantic is an indispensible resource.

Whatever you do for her, make it spontaneous. You don't want her thinking it's some forced gesture. Do it from your heart.

I would say hold back a little. lol Don't be perfect every day or she'll take it for granted. I suck most of the year and then I'll do something completely out of the blue and she's blown away. falloff

How romantic!
I really like spicy food. I mostly put Jalapenos on a lot of my food.

Do a chore or errand that she usually does. Don't tell her about, so she comes home and discovers it done.

Little things like that always brought a smile to my face. A vase on the flowers on the table might also sweeten the deal. wink

So, last night I went camping at a little park not far outside of Seattle, on the Puget Sound, and the woman (who hadn't gone with me because she had to be up at 4am this morning) rolls up just after dark with roses, a bottle of wine, homemade chocolate truffles, and lots of kisses. So we had dessert together by the fire, and this morning I got to wake up and make my coffee with roses next to the camp stove.

This is one of the perks of being with a woman. She knows how to be romantic. mushy

She may be a pain in the ass in every OTHER way, but. . .lol

Thanks for all the tips, everyone!

I wasn't very clear in my first post, but.... My wife lives in Portland, OR.....and I live in Birmingham, UK.

I am going to visit her, landing in Seattle on the 30th of this month and she is meeting me there.

So here's one I thought of, I gotta figure out the perfect way to pull it off, though. I was thinking that once we get to the hotel in Seattle that we'll be staying at for the first night, as we get there I will put my suitcase on the floor, and walk to the bathroom like I need to pee.

After I've walked into the bathroom, I will call out to her and say something like "Hey babe, can you grab [something] out of my suitcase please? The number lock on the suitcase is 210-606"

I'm hoping that the 4-hour drive she has just taken to the airport will be enough to make her tired enough to not realise the significance of the number straight away: 21-06-06 is the day we got married. Plus, I know you Americans tend to put the month before the day when writing dates. I also may pronounce it as "two hundred and ten, six hundred and six" to throw her off the trail.

Anyway, when she proceeds to open the suitcase, on top of all my clothes I will have one of our wedding photos enlarged and underneath it, it will say "374 days since you made my life complete - 21-06-06". And then next to it will be some sort of present of which I haven't decided yet.

I think this will score me some romance points. Whaddya think ladies?

EDIT - dammit. Now I can't figure out how to change the number code on my suitcase. sad
