What is the cheapest way to get around LA? My sis and I decided yesterday that we are going to LA for the weekend. We leave Friday morning. I was unpleasantly surprised to find out that our hotel (the airport Westin) is quite a ways from Disneyland, as well as the nightclub where we'll be seeing a concert. I do not want to take a cab everywhere, because I might as well just buy a new car for that amount of money. What is the most cost (and time) efficient way to travel? Thanks in advance! though if you're not comfortable with driving on pretty crazy freeways you might want to avoid renting a car

Gas and parking on top of the rental fee would be pretty pricey. I think my sister and I will familiarize ourselves with a bus schedule when we get there. I'm sure a good pimp will get you to the johns with no worries except a beating and forfeiting of most of your money. But that's L.A.

Busses are fine if you're in no hurry, or you're going to limit yourself to one section of town, but you really need a car to get around LA. My Legacy

Mango!!!!! I know what you need to do!
Saturday is your concert right? What you will need to do is take the green line train. If I am not mistaken, the hotel will probably have a shuttle that can take you to the LAX Aviation station. If not, there is a bus nearby that goes there. Take the shuttle/bus to the Aviation station and then you want to take it all the way to the very end of the line. That will land you at the station in Norwalk at I605/I105: Once there, go up the escalator and go straight to the 460 line which will take you directly to disneyland You can just repeat and rinse on the way back [Edited 6/7/07 14:41pm] 2010: Healing the Wounds of the Past.... http://prince.org/msg/8/325740

I was hoping there would be a trans. system that would go past all of the touristy type stuff. My concert is Friday night at the Avalon nightclub. Wanna hear me sing? www.ChampagneHoneybee.com

That is the most direct, fastest and cheapest way to get there and back. The 460 line runs late too but you might call Metro at 1-800-Commute to make sure when is the latest you can leave Friday night and still get back to LA. You could always rent a room if you have the extra money and then travel back in the morning There are a million hotels around there. I'm sure you wouldn't have a problem finding a room 2010: Healing the Wounds of the Past.... http://prince.org/msg/8/325740
