BBC America Viewers...

HOLLYOAKS starts tonight!

It's my favourite soap of all time and I wholeheartedly recommend it.

And it's a tad gay. lol

More info here and here.

I don't know why they're showing it so late at night over there. It's marketed towards teens and young adults over here and is screened at half-six in the evening.

Justin, you might hate me for saying this, but I can't stand Hollyoaks. dead confused lol boxed

My ex-housemate was obsessed with it and would watch the four hour marathons on a Sunday morning. shake Like Friends, if I hear *one* second of the theme tune, I have to leave the room. Horrible! lol dead

I know someone who was a scriptwriter on Hollyoaks for a while but they parted over 'creative differences'. Apparently, every script he gave had to be dumbed down. confused lol There again, I don't know what the hell he was presenting them. They could have been crap. lol

But I'm glad you enjoy it - I am in the minority with this programme, usually.

I find the signing people in the corner of the screen a bit distracting but it's odd how you cease to notice them once you're gripped by the plot - or maybe gripped by a raging hangover. There's an alternate four-hour omnibus on E4, on Saturdays, which doesn't have the signing people (if you're interested).

I have the theme tune as the ringtone on my mobile boxed lol

But in the scheme of things, the average Hollyoaks episode isn't as preposterous as Footballers Wives. The dream sequences are a bit wiggy at times though.

"Enjoy it"? It's nearly as good as sex. When I hear that jangly theme music start, it calls me like a dog whistle and I'm paralysed into instantly stopping what I'm doing for thirty minutes.

falloff falloff falloff

Where the hell do I start???! falloff

lol hug

My ex-housemate, bless her, sent a complaint email to the creators of Hollyoaks demanding they went back to playing the old theme tune. evillol Obviously no-one listened to her. evillol I can't believe you have it as your ringtone. falloff

Okay, I *love* Footballer's Wives - and that's ridiculous giggle - but I think that's because it sends itself up. Hollyoaks is just an excuse for pretty people to do stuff. lol

hug

Just don't go to work and instead spend all day catching up on Hollyoaks with that 4OD service at Channel4.com. Problem solved! biggrin
