BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. - Lindsay Lohan was cited for investigation of driving under the influence Saturday and was slightly injured when the troubled actress’ convertible struck a curb, police said.

Lohan, 20, and two other people were in her 2005 Mercedes SL-65 when it crashed on Sunset Boulevard around 5:30 a.m., Sgt. Mike Foxen said.

“She was cited and released because she has been admitted to a local hospital for minor injuries, Foxen said.
No one else was hurt and no other cars were involved, Foxen said. He did not have other details.

Officers went to the scene after receiving a 911 call about the accident, Foxen said.

Lohan will have to appear in court to answer the citation, he said.

The arrest was first reported on the Web site of X17 Inc., a celebrity photo agency.

Lohan publicist Leslie Sloane Zelnik did not immediately return an e-mail requesting comment.

Lohan said in January that she had checked into a rehabilitation center for alcohol treatment. Her publicist confirmed in December that the actress was attending Alcoholics Anonymous meetings.

Lohan told Allure Magazine during an interview for its May issue that she decided to enter the secluded Wonderland Center, an addiction treatment facility, at the suggestion of her therapist.

“It’s so weird that I went to rehab. I always said I would die before I went to rehab, Lohan told the publication.

Fame is a bitch. I mean...wow....@ age 20, she's rolling down the fast lane awfully fast. I'm only one year her senior and the wildest thing I've done so far was tap into my voyeur side and show off a pic or two. This crazy woman is destroying herself. And all the while I wonder where is her mother. But then again, seeing/hearing how their relationship is, I'm sure miss Lindsay will get nothing more than a slap on the wrist. ESPECIALLY when her mother gets half her earnings. I wish I would let fame get to my head like that. Every woman in my family would have my ass for acting out like that. Web site X17online.com posted the photos Monday, which it said were taken early that morning at a gas station after the 20-year-old actress left the Roosevelt Hotel in Hollywood, Calif., with a girlfriend.

The photos show Lohan, wearing a gray hooded sweat shirt, with her mouth open and her eyes shut, apparently asleep. Another photo shows her kneeling on the ground, her back to the camera, apparently before getting into the vehicle.

Leslie Sloane Zelnik, Lohan's publicist, didn't return repeated phone calls and e-mail messages from The Associated Press seeking comment.

Lohan was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence Saturday after her convertible struck a curb in Beverly Hills, and investigators found what they believe is cocaine at the scene, police said.

The actress and two other people were riding in her 2005 Mercedes SL-65 when it crashed on Sunset Boulevard around 5:30 a.m., Sgt. Mike Foxen said. It appeared Lohan was speeding, Lt. Mitch McCann said at an afternoon news conference.

Officers at the scene found a "usable amount" of a drug tentatively identified as cocaine, McCann said. He declined to say where the drug was found other than to say Lohan wasn't carrying it.

Lohan, who spent time at a rehabilitation center earlier this year, was driven in another car to a hospital for treatment of minor injuries, McCann said.

McCann declined to comment on her blood-alcohol level. He said the case will be presented to the District Attorney's Office where Lohan could face more charges, including felonies. Her tentative arraignment date is Aug. 24.
