Though, I think they are cute on children.

Those shoes are so ugly! Mario Batali sure seems to like them though.

I was at Khlong Thom market today and I saw loads of people wearing them. Kinda makes sense really what with it being rainy season too - sturdy, cheap, easy to put on and take off

The thing is they're supposed to be a fun spin on utility shoes. Ideally they really shouldn't be worn outside of the kitchen or the garden. I've always had tons of funky 'garden' clogs. But outside of the space where I'm trimming my magnolia tree you will NOT see me say, running around downtown in those ( I don't have those exact style but I have rubber clogs in a trillion colors. Same with rubber rain boots (which have always been part of the fashion lexicon here), if it ain't rainin' , TAKE 'EM OFF!

not i own a couple styles

i don't care if they are ugly ...i care that my feet are comfy

But there are other shoes that are extremely comfortable AND look good. Don't tell me people don't buy them because they are popular.
