Sci-Fi Channel Sucks

This is the only show I could stomach watching on that sorry ass channel with stupid shows and bad acting like the Sci-Fi original movies. The are cancelling the only good show they have.

LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - The upcoming fourth season of Sci Fi Channel's "Battlestar Galactica" will be its final one after all.

After months of speculation, the show's producers are set to make the announcement at a press conference Friday.

Ending "Battlestar" with the upcoming 22-episode fourth season was a creative decision made by the hit show's executive producers Ronald Moore and David Eick.

"This show was always meant to have a beginning, a middle and, finally, an end," Eick and Moore said in a statement Thursday. "Over the course of the last year, the story and the characters have been moving strongly toward that end, and we've decided to listen to those internal voices and conclude the show on our own terms. And while we know our fans will be saddened to know the end is coming, they should brace themselves for a wild ride getting there -- we're going out with a bang."

The fourth and final season of "Galactica" will kick off in November with "Razor," an extended two-hour episode, with the rest of the season slated to run beginning in early 2008.

Sci Fi executive vp original programming Mark Stern said the channel's brass "respect the producers' decision to end the series."

For months, Sci Fi had dispelled rumors about "Battlestar" ending its run after the fourth season.

A couple of weeks ago, one of the show's stars, Edward James Olmos, was quoted as saying that the upcoming batch of episodes were definitely the last ones. Sci Fi issued a statement denying such a decision had been made.

It certainly does and they could do so much more with that network. I could never follow Battlestar Galactica and I tried. Boy, I tried!

well according to the article that YOU just posted,
Sci-Fi isn't "cancelling" the show,
the producers have decided to end the series.

Believe me, i'm pissed off about it too,
because i love that show.

But Sci-Fi Channel doesn't want it gone,
the producers have decided
(just like the producers of the Sopranos and Deadwood)
that the show has run it's course
and they want to go out on top.

I've had serious issues with Sci-Fi channel ever since they basically sabatoged - then cancelled - a fantastic, smart program like Mystery Science Theater 3000 but continue airing garbage movies and endless, tired reruns of X-Files.

If Ed Wood were still alive, he would be making movies for Sci-Fi Channel.

nod

I also hate watching Doctor Who on there because of all the damn commercials. I had heard that they actually cut out scenes to make room for more commercials, but I don't know if that's just a rumor or not.

..and if they really had balls, they'd run "Torchwood", too. I don't see them picking it up at all, though. Too risque for them, I'd imagine.

True! Very very true! I never watch DW on SFC...

The ONLY show I watch on SFC now is The Dresden Files but the season has ended for that and I'm still waiting to see if it will be renewed. confused

Yeah, Tennant is a MUCH better doctor than Eccelston, imo. He played him like a manic depressive and I absolutely hated that aspect. Tennant has it just about right.

Otoh, I loved Rose but am not so fond of Martha AT ALL.

Martha is okay, but yeah...I liked Rose better. And her mother was a riot! lol

I'm still waiting for a McGann/Eccleston/Tennant team-up. biggrin

Yeah, Martha is "okay" and that's pretty much the extent of it. While watching the Human Nature episode last Saturday I realized the big difference between Martha and Rose. Rose always stood out. You could easily see why she was the companion vs everybody else. With Martha, I don't feel that's the case. If she weren't there, I don't think it would make a bit of difference.

I'm still waiting for a McGann/Eccleston/Tennant team-up. biggrin

Russell T. Davies has stated, IIRC, that he doesn't like multi-doctor stories. confused

Otoh, rumors are that he will be leaving the production after the 4th season so perhaps the person that takes over will feel differently.

I was talking to my brother about this. When the Sci-Fi channel first started they used to show some real good ole skool horror flicks, some commentary programs and ofcourse the Mystery Science Theater. But what happened???? Sci-Fi posted a message on their website they were getting complaints about the number of horrors shows, so then they started showing stupid comedy sci-fi really awful movies and cut out the commentary programs.

They show Star Gate 24/7 and I HATE that show, and all the shows they run are terrible and their original programs and movies are just bad bad bad.
