I'm not homophobic, but I did ponder the "gay roommate" question. I suppose it depends how much they're into porn eek

How can anyone spend time on this site, or indeed be into Prince, if u dislike gays?

Yeah I agree...the questions arent' really fair.

How are they not fair? They seem pretty straight (HA!) forward to me.

Because a lot of them don't necessarily measure homophobia. Take "I tease and make jokes about gay people" for example. I tease and make jokes about all kinds of groups of people including my own. That doesn't mean I'm afraid of them. Or take "Organizations which promote gay rights are not necessary". That's a matter of opinion and most people would say that they are necessary, but it doesn't have anything to with whether you're homophobic or not. Yet another example: "When I meet someone I try to find out if he/she is gay". I try to find out if they're married too. Does that make me a marriagophobic?

Anyway, my score was 15 - high-grade non-homophobic.

8 - Your score rates you as "high-grade non-homophobic."
In his 1996 study of 64 white, male college students, Dr. Henry Adams classed 29 participants as "non-homophobic." Their mean score was 30.48, however, placing most of the men outside of this sub-group. Dr. Adams reported that he had difficulty finding heterosexual men whose scores ranked them as high-grade non-homophobic

Same here, like the trust question. Why would a person limit trust to just gay people. Don't trust anybody lol And this question: 19. "I would hit a homosexual for coming on to me". Coming on to what extent? Grabbing? Fondling? I'd hit anyone who fondles me. hmph! This one too "15. I fear homosexual persons will make sexual advances towards me." I would feel uncomfortable if anyone made an unwanted sexual advance on me. I just scored those kind of questions that applied to all orientations as a "3" meaning I'm unbiased in those situations.

My score:

11 - Your score rates you as "high-grade non-homophobic."

i didnt like the question "do you enjoy spending time with gay people?"
because it really depends on the person
i dont enjoy spending time with someone JUST because theyre gay
i judge how much i like spending time with them on their personality.
some gay people i love spending time with
others not so much
but its not because theyre gay

25. I have rocky relationships with people that I suspect are gay.

Ok, so what is the right answer for this question? It just so happens that I've fallen for many a (closeted) gay man. The relationships were always rocky, ended badly, but all was forgiven when they came out later on. Am I homophobic for agreeing with this statement? Or am I non-homophobic because I LOVE gay men? razz
