Ok, so it was rainy, but we decided to go to the mountain bike demo day after all.
We get there, we sign up and buy some raffle tickets. They we check out some bikes and take two of the most expensive bikes ($7,500 each) for a ride. We get back, and after about 30 minutes they started announcing the winners for all kinds of t-shirts and caps and all kinds of stuff, and then the big prize - Devinci mountain bikes. My 2 year old niece who held the tickets was walking by the announcer, and so he asks her to pick the winning ticket out of the box. She chooses a ticket, and he announces the number. My brother who was next to her, checks the ticket and finds out we have the winning number!!!

We won a mountain bike!!! Woohoo!!!
So yea, they're not the kind that costs $7,500. But still. Free mountain bikes

how did you get to Canada in the first place, and why??? I know that my company had to pay $15.000 for my personal US-workingvisa.....which is valid for a lifetime (only $500 renewal-fee every 5 years....). Go finf a good job and let your company pay for it! And then marry the expensive jewish girl! (make sure she's from a rich family! )

Well, my problem is not that easy to fix.
I came to Canada because my brother is here, and we wanted to try and get me there and that eventually I'd immigrate. I chose Canada because of my brother, I always wanted to go to the US, but now I realize Canada might be a better choice.
My problem is that I don't qualify for a work visa, since I have no diplomas. Not even a high school one. So I don't have enough points for almost any kind of visa.
My lawyer said I have two choices, either marry a Canadian, or get a student's visa in a public school. Both those choices cost money that I don't have.

Ariel, how much is a Canadian study permit for you? I know we're here under different circumstances, but mine hasnt been outrageously expensive. It's short-term yet, but at least gives me a couple years here.
