If it was in my power...

People would go nicely and neatly dressed when leaving their homes! Meaning people would go out dressed in presentable and clean outfits.
No baggy or torn clothes.
Clean and nicely ironed clothes.
I remember hearing on Oprah and it was a fashion expert that said this that in the 20's-50's people would go out into the streets presentable and now people can just walk out wearing torn pj's to the mall! eek
I really like spicy food. I mostly put Jalapenos on a lot of my food.

I wear what feels comfortable. I'm not going to wear a suit in the summer. and I believe there are more important things to do with money than buy pretty clothes.
I believe in the inner person's beauty, don't care what they're wearing.
As long as they don't stink, or show some nasty body parts, I don't really care.

I hope no one takes my comment out of context, but I did not mean for people to wear expensive designer clothing, but presentable.

well, if it was in my power...
I'd go back in time and undo the mistakes I've made the first time. even though they allowed me to grow, I'd rather learn another way and take back my wrongs.

You mean presentable as in dudes wear slacks and shirt/tie and ladies wear a nice skirt and a blouse.

Have everyone looking the same.

Paradise - I think that I know what you're trying to get at.

There was a time when people would try to look "presentable" when out in public. Obviously there are always exceptions. But for nowadays there is no such concept. You don't need to buy brand-name clothing to look presentable. But there is no excuse for;
- Camel toes.
- women with fat guts wearing mid-drifts.
- pajama bottoms outside of the house.
- G-strings peeking out of the jeans.
- Speedos on the beach if you aren't, or don't look like, a lifeguard.

Normally I am dressed in tore up clothes because I am always working with things that make me dirty, and the only time I can pick things up is in between working.

One time I went to Carson’s after work to pick up some face wash, and the clerk actually said during my purchase “Better have a clean face to go with your dirty clothes.”

Tonight I picked up dinner between working, and the hostess looked me over like I might not be able to pay for the meal. Then the waitress acted like she needed to double check all my info “just in case”. Doesn’t the dirty work clothes indicate that I was working so therefore I can pay for my meal?

One of my girlfriend's biggest pet peeves is people in the midwest know nothing about fashion and don't care leaving the house in clothes more fit for scrubbing the house. It is actually funny to hear her complain about it. razz
