Do English speaking people realize Dolores means pains/sorrows?

There was a woman named Dolores Fuertes who was married to a man named Espalda, so her name was Dolores Fuertes de Espalda = Strong Back Pain smile

I came up with these names years ago for my future children.

Boy:
Lennox Emilio

Girl:
Coda Cecilia

Unfortunately, my man hates both of these names, so we made up something else entirely. It's a secret tho.

Yes, I do realize Dolores means "sorrow". Morbid as it might sound, that's part of why I like it.

I'm also a big fan of Misericordia, but that's too much of a mouthful to inflict on someone IMO.

I wrote an essay on Et Misericordia for a choral literature class in college, and even composed one of my own. I never thought of using it as a name, but it is pretty.

Do you guys know any names for a boy or girl....mostly boy..hehe. I want something that sounds charming or handsome. Something unique not a common name.

Another thing, read Freakonomics before you name your child anything too unusual - it may be a mixed blessing for the child later in life wink
