Hmmm my best holiday ... I have had a few but this definitely the longest, I started November 1998 , over 20 countries later and I'm still going... so I would have to say THIS holiday is the best ...

I love the ocean and often visit San Francisco and spend some time on the Oregon Coast. One time I took a week off, got away from friends and family (even my girlfriend!), and stayed the whole time in a beautiful hotel room overlooking the ocean, walking along the beach, examining my life, etc. It was wonder full!

6 of my best friends and I backpacked around Europe together for around 3 weeks, 2 years ago. We went to London, then attended the Glastonbury Festival, then went to Paris, Nice, Milan, Florence, Rome and Amsterdam.

I'm still amazed we didn't lose anyone or all hate each other by the end of the trip!

Highlights- We danced at Heaven in London, saw about a million fabulous bands at Glasto including the closing headliner David Bowie, sneaked our way past the mile long line and into the Louvre for free in Paris, swam in the Mediteranean in Nice, I slept through Milan, saw David, Birth of Venus, and spent around $35 for the best fruit tart any of us have ever tasted in Florence, we partied all over Rome (and yeah, saw the colliseum, the Sistine Chapel, the Spanish steps, Mary Shelly's house and an exhibit of 6 alters in a church made out of human bones), and did a lot of shopping in Amsterdam.

We're about to take a 2-week vacation. One week in IL to visit my boyfriends family, then one week traveling to Oregon, Washington, maybe Canada and then making our way back to Southern California.

I've seen pictures, the Oregon coast looks beautiful...

We planned and saved for about a year and a half to make it work. We went in June which is prime tourism season so the round trip flight (in and back out of London) was around $860. Our rail pass (which obviously didn't include England) was about $250. We spent money taking the ferry back and forth from England, but I don't remember the cost of that... We only stayed in 2 hostels, the rest were hotels (since we had so many of us, renting hotel rooms for us all to share winded up as cheap as a hostel in most cities, plus then we had our own rooms to lock our stuff up in). All in all I'd say I spent around $2500. Course, I would've liked to have had more money for shopping- I went about 2 days with only eating the continental breakfast we were privided at the hotel (and stuffing extra bread and stuff in my backpack for the day wink ). But you could easily make do with that amount.

My favorite holiday would have to be Christmas when I spent a few weeks with my brother Rocky up in Columbus, Ohio back in 1997. Free of crazy family mambers and fights.

When I was 12 I missed the first week of 7th grade..I think it was 7th.

I went with my grandma 2 visit my great grandma in Masstricht Holland (Southernmost part) While I was there we went 2 a flea market in Belgium, a restaurant just over the border in Germany, and Paris, France!

But I spent most of my time in Holland, and I took a train 4 the first time from Amsterdam 2 Maastricht. I even went 2 the supermarket by myself and the cashier would talk 2 me and I would just nod my head. biggrin

I went 2 a World War 2 cemetary there...I 4get what it's called. But 4 as long as u could c there were graves, mostly American soldiers. sad That made a big impression on me.

Anyway, I also went shopping with my older cousin. I thought she was very cool and I looked up 2 her. innocent She took me shopping and I got these 4 inch flourescent yellow high heels. I was such a firecracker back then. evillol

It was fun. yay! I cant wait until study abroad next year! England, brace urself! evillol
