I tasted sap straight from a tree when I was little. It tastes... ummm... very clean and spring-y. Not at all sweet like maple syrup. They must boil it down a LOT to get it to be sweet.

my grandma used to make syrup from tree sap...she let me taste it before she sweetened it and yeah, it was kinda interesting but not at all tasty to a kid, though it was SO YUMMY when she had the final product ready.

This stuff was just crap, worse than baseball card gum.

I don't like coffee flavor of any kind so the gum sounds really icky to me.

My favorite flavor of gum is bubble gum...like the old Bazooka flavor, so not a lot of experimentation going on in gum for me.

when i was little, my grandma used to mail me letters with a stick of fruit stripe gum in them. yeah, it's crap gum that dies after 30 seconds, but the damn stuff is a TOTAL nostalgia trigger for me. plus, i love the packaging.

What the hell was that weird old-fashioned berry gum? It came in sticks and it was like that black licorice gum. Pinberry, teaberry, some shit like that. It was gross.

Hawaii, 'cause of the "Kona" thing, is where they first started selling it, apparently. Mom got it probably a year ago, so I'm not surprised that it has made it's way out into the larger coffee-gum-craving world.

It's kind of a travesty to refer to it as Kona. Kona coffee is special. I guess coffee gum is "special" too, but still.
