Anyone going to see the new Pirates of the Caribbean movie today? Unfortunately I will not be able to, so reviews would be most appreciated.

Maybe I'll go tomorrow. Or Saturday. Not sure yet.

I want to see it, hopefully its not sold out.

Yeah I saw it yesterday, it was shit. I even had low expectations and it still didn't meet them. That's when you know a movie is crappy.

i haven't seen any of those movies. i think pirates are drab. they're dirty and there are never any robots around. kind of like hippies, only more violent.

I found myself becoming distracted very easily, which is a pretty clear indicator that a movie is bad.

The humour was forced.
The action was boring - nothing new, seen it all before in the second one.
And I just didn't care. I was like... would someone die already...jeez!

Oh well!

I'm sure avid Pirates fans will love it.

I've seen mixed reviews on this one. One reviewer will give it 1 1/2 out of 4, and the next one will give it 4 out of 5.

I've heard from 2 people that it's ok, but the first one is definitely the best. And one of the people who said that is an AVID Johnny Depp fan and adores the "Pirates" movies. Although I did hear it does tie quite a bit of the storylines together. I'll still have to see it and of course add it to my dvd collection. Have to have the entire set. I hear the visuals are pretty amazing.

I hate to hear that it is not so good. However, I will still go see my guy



I love Jack Sparrow

Johnny is a great actor and I love most of his work, but these Pirate movies suck. I could barely get through the first one and I never did see the second, so I highly doubt I will bother with the third. Enough is enough.

I really liked the first one, the 2nd I saw on the plane to Minneapolis and I fell asleep while watching it, I thought it sucked.....I guess I will see this one on the plane as well and I probably won't like it....

Going OOT but will most likely see it this weekend...

Seeing how P-2 was not as good as one, I might have to see this one

I mean I want to...but at 2hrs and 45mins, i might fall asleep in the theater.

I think all the characters surrounding the main ones make it worth seeing the flick Captain Barbosa/o is one for the ages...don't forget there's a monkey...the two knuckleheads ...and lastly the inspiration for Sparrow

You're right, the 5 seconds that Keith was in was very exciting. Barbosa was a tad boring, actually come to think of it he was probably under used and that's why he seemed useless.

Essentially, the monkey stole the show. I love monkeys!

Not very good. I liked the first half, though. It was too long and confusing. Hard to make out the dialogue. Not enough Jack Sparrow. But the monkey was great--though monkeys always are, aren't they?

I enjoyed the movie.

The first movie did the best job of twisting the story lines and coming out great in the end.

The third movie didn't twist the story lines...it frappe'ed them. They came together overall at the end, but the good in the characters didn't shine through like it did in the first movie.

Now I feel sad when I hear this song. The movie hooked me, IMO an ideal fantasy movie. I guess it helps going to a drive-in where you have control over the volume, I think it would have been very distracting from the overall storyline if we'd of been boombarded (or rather assaulted) with extremely loud special effects.
