Please say a Prayer for my neighbor...

Hey everybody. The other day I got some horrible news about my 20 year old neighbor, Stephen. He has a job working with fiber optic lines for a communications company. On Monday, he and a co-worker went up in a cherry picker, and were about to work on a line they were told was dead. Well, it wasn't, and the line shot 7200 volts of electricity through both of them. His 28 year old coworker was killed instantly, and Stephen was left in critical condition. As of now, he is in satisfactory condition, but he is covered in 3rd degree burns. It looks like it will be a long road to recovery.

I am relieved that he was not killed, but outraged that someone gave them the go ahead without making completely sure the line was dead. Now his coworker has died, and leaves behind a wife and 2 children. Stephen will have to deal with the burns his entire life. It truly goes to show that your life can change in one moment. If you could say a prayer for Stephen, and also for the family of his co-worker David, I would be most thankful. sad

Here is an article about the accident.

The whole thing is just so horrifying. Stephen should be coming home soon, and I think I'll help out his family by bringing them meals. He has a wonderful family. His sister is in nursing school, so he'll be well taken care of at home.

That is terrible.....my prayers are with him and both families.....this story hit close to home because my troops are doing a lot of commercial upgrades on this base....working with fiber and having to deal with buried and overhead powerlines.....on top of being out here.....and it is a very avoidable tragedy...
