Oh, God I want some right now. ***Grocerystoreafterwork*** M Yummy! One of my fav restaurants serves a mango salad that is just sliced mango, thin strips of fried tofu, and a little chili powder. Mango and tofu sounds weird, but no. It's sooo good, and I bet it would be even better with lime. Anything is better with lime. Ok now I am hungry, where is this to be found? You MUST try eggplant, it's DIVINE Don't know how much Thai food is around you but the next time you see a Thai dish w/ eggplant in it, GET IT Or (on a good recommendation) try baba ganoush - but a good one, a bad one can turn you the fuck OFF...

Here we often get mangoes and other fruit complete with a little bag of mixed chili, sugar and salt. It's delicious to dip fruit in. Again, if folks are into their fruit and veg., what better way to get both than to eat somtam (spicy papaya salad). You can have grated papaya, grated carrot, chopped tomatoes, some chili, a few peanuts and lime juice.

MIGUELGOMEZ said: Fauxie said: Oh, I forget lemons and limes. I love to eat the little limes here and put the juice in everything. Right now I'm flitting between posting on the org, and standing at the window sunning myself, while sipping on soda water with lime juice. . [Edited 5/21/07 0:22am] Fauxie. I was told that I couldn't eat lemons with salt because it thins out the blood. What the hell is that about? Is that an urban legend or something. Have you heard anything like that? Has anyone? M Not sure about the salt but lemon juice does thin the blood. I can't imagine being able to consume enough of it to do anything other than good (lower blood pressure) for the average person. I know some take medication to do that so it likely wouldn't be a good idea for them to eat too much citrus fruit. Thais eat lots of chili, ginger and citrus fruits every day and they seem to have very good blood circulation and don't have many of the problems folks do in the west so I wouldn't worry unduly about it.

I got no answer when I asked him, but then he said after a pause that he is boycotting because he does that with things he does not like and he also said he really has no reason to go there...whatever that means...that may have to be my lunch tomarrow
