I personally think they're a waste. If you just wipe your ass good the first time around ,you shouldn't need a bidet. Or you could always use these:

I usually shower after I use the bathroom anyway, so..... lol

A friend of mine bought some sort of aftermarket bidet toilet seat attachment. I think it's wierd, but my wife and kid love it.

I've been informed many times, the bidet was developed by the French, because they didn't bathe often. It was a matter of cleansing oneself prior to sex. Perhaps a fallacy?
When reading the current info and history of, the rational is, if you wash your hands after defecation, shouldn't you cleanse the bottom? WEllll....handwashing wasn't a big thing in the late 1800's, early 1900's.
Neither was the French taking daily baths..... eek

Don't get me started on the French....

I feel icky after I take a dump period and the only way I feel clean is by showering afterwards. lol If I use a bidet, it'll have to be my own.

When I was living in France, I went to visit my friend in The Netherlands. We stayed at her parents' house and there was a bidet in the bathroom.

I have enough problems with bathroom components shooting water up and out of spots. A bidet would surely complicate and add on to the mess. No no no. A good wiping the first time is enough. lol
