It's getting harder for me to see ballet as beautiful knowing they're starving themselves & ruining their feet & knees. Same with gymnastics.

Not dancers (that's the feet thing), but the gymnasts we see on TV are about six years old.

The thing about gymnasts is their bodies never seem to mature past like 11 years old.

It's creepy to me.

When you get curves, it's time to move to a different sport.

The extreme they take it to is really bad for their bodies.

Once they get out of serious competition their bodies can be amazing but lots of those girls don't get periods because of the abuse.

Most gymnasts on TV aren't sexy at all.

I can watch women's volleyball all day. It doesn't get nearly enough coverage on ESPN. There should be a women's volleyball channel.

No, just turn one of the parallel bars upright and she's in business.

I can not wear flat either, unless they are tennis shoes....they hurt my feet and my ankles don't like flats either.

And I wear them almost exclusively.

I steer clear of stilettos, they just fuck me UP lol I have one pair of stiletto boots but I've only worn those fuckers twice in 4 years disbelief I like a more sturdy heel - I can do up to 3 inches comfortably, I don't own a heel over 4.5. I walk okay in them but if I mistakenly wear them on a long night of standing, you can definitely tell exclaim

once the bones in the front of your foot get used to that particular kind of pressure, it doesn't hurt as much anymore.

It's still gotta suck. I mean, given your druthers, wouldn't you rather wear, say, sneakers?

Nope. Nothing makes your legs look better than a pair of high heels.

I wore flats for years and I'm back to heels most of the time now. You can't be fabulous in sneakers.

I went out for dinner with a friend and a friend of hers when I was pregnant and her friend told her afterwards, "She's the only 7 months pregnant women I have ever met that still wears fishnets and stiletto boots."

I dunno if he was impressed or mortified. lol

I wear high heels nearly daily. They're actually more comfortable - when I was a kid my mother used to have to constantly remind me not to walk on my tip toes. Now I do it all the time and no one reminds me not to. Maybe it has something to do with the heel supporting my foot...? lol

But I don't really find them uncomfortable unless they're really short (for some reason it feels odd to wear two inch heels) or I'm wearing them for walking long distances.

Honestly (teasing Erin notwithstanding) I wonder if it has to do with the shape of the foot or something...I have really long, narrow feet with hardly any arch and heels with little support are really difficult for me to walk in - it's not even worth it to me. But others find it much easier. Have you always found them to be comfortable?

Yeah. I remember always being mad that they didn't really have heels in the little girl's section - when I finally started wearing women's shoes I realized how much more comfortable they were than girl's shoes because heels were more available. falloff

Sounds crazy. That's why I think you're right that the arch of the foot has a lot to do with it. nod There's really not much other that I can think would explain it lol

For some women it is true, that is why it hurts my feet as well as my ankels personally if my shoes are to flat. I have had other women tell me the same thing to.
