Mini Vacations.. This weekend my hubby and I will be going to Gatlinburg, TN to celebrate my 38th birthday  coming up on Mon, the 21st..it's about a 2-3 hr drive from where we live, but enough of a "trip" that we feel we've gotten away from everything for awhile. The famous Dollywood is in Gatlinburg amongst many other things to see and do. Do any of you have places that are close to where you live that you can have little mini escapes every now & then?? share..Because of God..we 2 r 1~~Darren & Suzyn forever

Home for the most part. I have found it to be one of the best everyday mini vacations for me.
Or a Lake nearby... alone (most often than not). Where I can be with my thoughts undisturbed. (as much as possible at least) 
I travel as well, but the best mini vacations always, always involve the great outdoors for me. | |

My "get away" is the casino, there is a casino at a local indian reservation about a half hour away. My husband and I love getting away for a few hours, not an over the night deal, but it does let you forget about your day to day crap. | |

We always go to Savannah!We get to stay one night when we go see my husbands mom!Or we go to Hilton Head! Both are really nice to just getaway for a few days!
We are going to Gatlinburg, TN June 4 - 8 also!!! This is going to be our first time going!!! I cant wait! I love Dolly!!!! YEAH!!!!! We have a cabin! I will let you know how that goes!  We have to do a timeshare presentation to save $100!
We just left AAA to get directions, I think we are going to stop in Cleveland to visit the Cabbage Patch Hospital! LOL We want to see all and do all when we get to TN! What is your itinerary? I will share my pics when I get back!! Have fun and be safe! [Edited 5/17/07 13:10pm] | |

[Edited 5/17/07 13:10pm] thanks...we actually live in a little remote suburb of Cleveland...lol..we aren't making an itinerary..we're just gonna go and go with the flow..may visit a few different attractions that we haven't in the past..IF you get a chance and like BBQ, may I suggest Bennette's BBQ..their food is fabulous!!.. I'll try and post some pics from our trip also..  Because of God..we 2 r 1~~Darren & Suzyn forever

I'm a big fan of the mini-vacation. 
I'm lucky to live where I do for that. I can drive for 4 hours or less and reach mountains, beaches (I love water. . . Puget Sound, the Pacific, the Columbia river, tons of other rivers and lakes), forests (including rainforests), deserts, or a couple of very pleasant cities (Portland, OR and Vancouver, BC). Vancouver is a definite favorite. oh noes, prince is gonna soo me!!1! | |
